2025/26 David Moyes

Do you think I am claiming we have "consolidated"?

Please...

That's the word being used by the last of the Moyesettes...

No I get that.

It’s just incredulous that we’ve consolidated anything.

Dyche delivered this with Harrison Lindstrom Doucoure, 2 points deductions, the club up for sale, and a sell to profit transfer strategy.

Moyes has had one of the highest net spends in the league, a new stadium, stable ownership, new player in January, no risk of relegation at all, and despite having Grealish KDH Ndiaye Barry Rohl Alcaraz Dibling George as attacking options he’s delivered the same as Harrison Lindstrom et al.

Complete rubbish.

Keane wasn’t the issue this season, at least for most of it.

Keane, individually, didn't really put a foot wrong.

The issue is neither him or Tarkowski can play as a covering CB, and we have seen that when they both play in the same team together, we concede goals for fun.

I don't know what's going on at the top of the club. We've been calling out for a right back for 5 years now and for us to have gone into this season with Coleman and Patterson being the only two natural players for that position is shambolic. Patterson is turgid and Coleman should have packed it in 3 years ago.

So the defensively minded Dyche wouldn’t even play O’Brien and somehow you have him down as the second best central defender at the club. That seems very much a big stretch.

If anything, he is protected by being out wide as it’s a more forgiving position.
Did you see the goal we conceded against City? Doesn’t happen with O’Brien there

Brobbey’s goal last week? O’Brien clears that up before he can get a shot away

Moyesettes…. Here we go again.

This almost identical same group of players has struggled for years - Moyes himself was brought in because we were in trouble only about 18 months ago.

Recruitment hasn’t hit the mark at all since, some of the blame for that must be on Moyes but also - they ripped the entire thing up last year mid window.

Do you think another manager has this squad considerably higher in the table this year?
Another manager may have been able to attract better players last summer. Another manager may have had the good sense to punt Coleman and Keane and Mykolenko, and not hand them contract extensions. Another manager doesn't hand "Tarky" an extension. Another manager doesn't sign off half the transfer budget on players he refuses to play.

Another manager just might do better than 13th, yes.

He has served his purpose. Other managers are now available. Time to move on - with a cool head.

I agree, but I think the idea that O’Brien is the answer is an oversimplification. He makes plenty of lapses and he would be more exposed in the centre. There are lots of defenders who can have a good came covering who become exposed the longer they play.

If there’s one thing Moyes know, it is coaching central defenders.

Yeah. Doucoure gets a lot of flack, but his energy levels are hard to replicate.

KDH is fine at AM. Dropped off a bit in run in but still statistically a very good signing for 25m considering what else gets signed for big money for basically potential (DIBLING).

Issues are the components around these flair players aren't good enough to finish top 8. Excellent having Grealish but he would've been far more effective with overlapping LB to link up with. Instead he gets Myko who is the polar opposite.

Barry done o.k scoring wise but today he was terrible at holding the ball up and winning free kicks or linking play. That is compulsory away from home and he gave the Spurs backline an incredibly easy time of it.

I think a decent fit would be Castellanos at West Ham. Scored 6 in half a season and should've scored far more. He has workrate and nuisance factor and will surely have a relegation release clause in the deal he signed.

Moyes will probably go in for Bowen but he wasn't great at all for them in second half of the season.
