People can gripe all they like, but it was a solid consolidation season. Next season will be the key one and I’d imagine the target will be European qualification.
No it wasn't. It's one more point than the last two seasons.People can gripe all they like, but it was a solid consolidation season. Next season will be the key one and I’d imagine the target will be European qualification.
David Moyes coached Rice into one of the best midfielders in Europe. He certainly wasn’t that when he arrived. He won them a trophy.
He also had them letting in over 70 goals in a season and had a very mixed run of transfers. He also had Declan Rice…
Graham Potter is what happened to West Ham.

Don't give us that BS. Context is important.David moyes this season
Pros
Likely met the seasons objective
Team was solid for the best part
At one point had a likely shot at europe
Cons
Threw away an excellent chance of european qualification
Lost connection and credit in the bank with some of the fanbase
Very rigid with team selection and substitutions
Didn't make much use of young players but perhaps with good reason
Summary.
Probably a par season in terms of expectations. Some good away results but some very poor home results. However really disappointing to not qualify for Europe when it looked so likely and in doing so lost a lot of the fan base. Made excuses during press conferences and blaming referee decisions to deflect the blame. Made poor use of young prospects and lack of use of backup players may have cost him with the end of season poor form.
Persisted with O Brien right back and poor centre back partnersips.
On balance by achieving the objective deserves another shot next season but if a younger hungrier manager is available it shouldn't be overlooked.

Yeah, but the context it’s important. We had a European challenge but fell away badly at the end of the season. Relegation was never a worry. No it wasn't. It's one more point than the last two seasons.
The club will always be losers if you have losers at every level...Top half cup run Angus said
Bottom half, out of both cups to first prem opposition Moyes delivered

If we'd have finished in the position Forest finished in, Angus would still spin it as a positive season and one of progression.Top half cup run Angus said
