2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes is hardly bargain bucket. He’s one of the best paid in World football.
Yeah , I know
I should have phrased it better , I was trying to imply he was only appointed as the best available option when Dyche decided to flounce off.
Moyes was an emergency appointment.
Like having to use one of those emergency spare wheels and deciding to stick with it cause it got you home.

Pros

Likely met the seasons objective

Team was solid for the best part

At one point had a likely shot at europe

Cons

Threw away an excellent chance of european qualification

Lost connection and credit in the bank with some of the fanbase

Very rigid with team selection and substitutions

Didn't make much use of young players but perhaps with good reason

Summary.

Probably a par season in terms of expectations. Some good away results but some poor home results. However really disappointing to not qualify for Europe when it looked so likely and in doing so lost a lot of the fan base. Made excuses during press conferences and blaming referee decisions to deflect the blame. Made poor use of young prospects and lack of use of backup players may have cost him with the end of season poor form.

Persisted with O Brien right back and poor centre back partnersips.

On balance by achieving the objective deserves another shot next season but if a younger hungrier manager is available it shouldn't be overlooked.

A European trophy has never been easier to win and we haven’t won a thing since 1995

Enjoy watching Crystal Palace (who even we have managed to finish above) win another cup next week
Glasner would absolutely roast these owners. we need ambition from the owners first and drive the people below to strive for the same .if it's seen as progress we were not fighting relegation then they all need booting out certainly easier said than done regarding the ownership

Surely going to the World Cup is a good thing? A lot of scouting and tapping opportunities.
Does he need to be in the US to scout players? I doubt he will be behind a tree with a pair of binoculars to watch training take place so he can just watch the matches on tv like the rest of us.

Instead of analyzing players and teams he’ll never work with or have to play against I’d personally prefer him to concentrate on our own pre season if he is staying at the club.

If I recall he is 7th best paid manger in EPL and the players are 16th best paid squad. We finished 13th.

I don’t think you can call the season par, when the manager himself last summer was saying he was targeting Europe and he ends up 13th.
