2025/26 David Moyes

All those times Moyes was linked with us in a possible return over the last few years I never, ever wanted him back.

I was gutted when he came back last season, but at the end of the season I actually thought to myself “maybe I was wrong after all, we’ve done alright here, getting out of trouble with ease”.

How stupid I was to be fooled by him. This season, and specially the last couple of months, have just proven what an unbearable, rigid, out of date, out of touch, stubborn old man he is.

He is, in general, a born loser. The West Ham Conference win was such an outlier.

Even ignoring team selections, subs, style of player, choice of new players, he clearly can’t make a group of players enter the pitch with the mentality to compete. Which is sort of the point of his existence? Not good this situation.
Like Dyche, Allardyce and countless other old school managers their first priority is park the bus and hope for a winner from a corner.

The game starts on the back foot. It's grim

There is a reason for the old adage - Never go back.
Even our most successful manager learnt this in the end.
