2025/26 David Moyes

Overall he's done a good job, last season especially.

My expectations were low and I was ok with him finishing his contract, even if that meant 2 years of joyless, no risk football - which is what we're getting.

I don't see any circumstances where he's not here next year.

But we have to move on at some point. Maybe it's this season, maybe it's next.

But it can't be any longer than that imo.

I don't think PL is that great right now. A good, progressive manager with the right structure around them can make a real impact - Emery, Iraola.

That manager's just never going to be Moyes.
I think the calibre of manager available now is very high... what is that likely to look like 3 months in to the season at the wrong end of the table or even in 1 year?

I dont think we can pass up the opportunity now, we'd be mad.

Moyes is the 5th highest paid manager in world football, are we getting value for money? As an example Iraola earns 10% of what Moyes does.

Ronseal Davie has done exactly what anyone should have expected.
Average league performance, sub average cup performance.
There’s more than enough previous so this should not surprise anyone.
If he stays, we might get Europe, but it will be at the expense of league form - if we get past the first few games in which ever comp it is.

We will continue to fold against Liverpool, Man U, City, Arsenal etc etc baring the odd outlier draw or even rarer victory.

Thank you for your efforts and ta-ta.

Exactly now’s the time with the managers available,I see that beesley done another piece about Moyes again in the echo about him winning at Spurs previously,he’s gone to bat for him this week he has

You're right.
It does seem like this year is a big chance to get someone who can make same kind of impact Emery has.
That's what we should be aiming for.

Exactly, there's literally no case for keeping Moyes on. We've got a great opportunity to appoint a manager who can take us to a level that Moyes simply can't get us to. Seize the day.

Exactly, we should be taking the Villa example, a club that was similar in size to us 2 or 3 years ago.... but our club will follow the Fulham model just being happy to exist in the PL.

No matter how you dress it up Villa got it right because an elite manager can transform a club whereas Everton, in the last 30 years, have always been giving lower than average ability managers more money and players hoping things change.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we dangle survival in front of West Ham today by leading Spurs into the last few minutes and we’ll do our usual thing of sitting unbelievable deep and maki by a stupid sub post 90 mins and then conceding right at the end.

I’ll be amazed if we win today

Were victories against these teams more common in his absence?

If you make a change in the summer ,better options exist to elevate the club , if we continue this dismal form in the fall due to his increasing rigidity , that's when managerial alternatives become limited if we have to sack him and we start dialing back our ambitions because of a string of negative results

I think Moyes could really be helping out his advocates by you know actually winning games or even generating notable performances and he's not , it's the same slop every week now, same capitulations with no effort to rectify it

What do you as a Moyes supporter get? Crap football with no coherent attack, almost same tactics, team selections and subs every week with no results? Younger players don't even get developed as 36 year old Gana gets priority on the pitch. Moyes becoming cantankerous at a presser and scolding the female bbc reporter? Sounds like an incredible deal sign me up

Once again these questions are coming from someone who thought he did a superb job last season I've just seen him regress substantially this season
