2025/26 David Moyes

I want Everton to win trophies, we won't with Moyes at the helm.

We all want us to win something, but the reality is we haven't won anything for 31yrs. Last time he was here, he had a zero net spend budget for 10yrs, but managed to average about 7th. We could try a few more flavour of the month managers.... and we may even get someone decent.... but I'd say just one Summer window for a club that has been at or near the bottom for a few years, and has had the lowest net spend of the past 5 yrs, with a squad that is still valued approx 15th is asking quite a lot for any greater transformation than we've had.

Players were lined up to be signed before the first one including Truffert and Wesley. He rejected both. So annoying when people say he’s got no full backs - he made that choice

Players identified by Thelwell who was doing a great job and undoubtedly Moyes got him the chop. Now we are stuck with Angus “Happily Dissatisfied” Kinnear talking crap and have no idea who does what what with transfers except Moyes has final say

You clearly knew that our squad was small, as did everyone else. Surely this January we should have strengthened knowing that players get injured.
No idea if there was a budget in January or what the availability was, so hard to judge. Lots of managers refrain from buying in January, especially if team is doing ok. I thought Thelwell did ok under the circumstances, but see that he was also sacked by Rangers. So who knows.

You can only judge Thelwell on what he did here and it was great. Should still be our Director of Football

if cash is tight then use all your loan spots. If you don’t use all windows available to you then that makes a rebuild longer. It also gives players from other leagues 6 months to settle in and a full pre season.

I think the 3 games against Sunderland this season show he is a manager of the past. The game has moved on.

All 3 games Sunderland controlled them, had more possession and played the better football.

That squad was overhauled in the summer with limited Premier League experience and playing a much younger team than ours. There net spend is much lower than ours and just last season would have had a wage bill about a 6th of ours.

We can get Moyes new fullbacks and a new striker and he will still play the same tactics and formation.

A bank of 4 defenders and a bank of 5 midfielders keeping it tight and in position while letting our opponents have the possession. Just like we did against Sunderland last Sunday.

He won't change, he will always pick experience over youth.

They had a higher net and real spend than us this season and are only about 20% below us on wages. We drew at their ground and got beat last week with late sucker punches despite having nearly twice as many shots in total and more on target too. Game should've been won in first half, similar against City and we were also the better side against Liverpool imo. We're relatively toothless up front and increasingly flat-footed at the back. Yet still only a few points off top 6 despite those obvious deficiencies.

Clutching at straws here Tom. That first half performance was awful. I think at halfway through the first half Sunderland had about 75% possession.

Look at all 3 games and two of them we were at home. They have more possession, played a good few hundred more passes, more shots than us.

A team with next to no premier league experience. Overhauled in one summer looking the far more superior team and a much younger one to boot.

As for there wage bill, we will have to see the audited accounts next year but I doubt they are less than 20% of ours.

Just last season alone, Grealish wages would be in the region of half there wage bill by himself.

Here are the stats for Everton V Sunderland but please note we had the advantage of playing at home twice.

If we win today well done Moyes.

If we get beat its all the players fault.

I can guarantee one thing as its happened all season is, one 45 minutes will be dreadful from us, its a regular trait of David Moyes.

We will have less than 40% possession today.

Only change to the starting lineup will be Gana for Big Tim if he is passed fit.

Beto to be subbed between 60-70 mins for Barry.

Spurs have not won at home this year in the Premier League.
