2025/26 David Moyes

Like comparing Apples & Pears, Dyche made us watch dross most of the time & Moyes saved us from certain relegation last season.
Certain relegation??? We were abysmal under dyche but Leicester who finished 18th had 25 points the entire season I think even with crappy Dyche we would have been alright. Dyche had 18 or 19 points when he was sacked in Jan , yes Moyes provided a radical improvement but once again this narrative that he was our Savior from inevitable relegation is absurd.

Hindsight's a beautiful thing.

We weren't in the drop zone even at the time
People just love to panic
I can't speak for other people but even with our dismal results I was never remotely concerned about relegation even with Dyche I just wanted a better manager and moyes delivered , this season he hasn't
Our form was panic worthy. When I say hindsight it's because Leicester decided to be even worse than imaginable. Definitely agree with the bolded bit though, the combination of relegation fights and awful performances always exaggerate eachother, and yes we do need to move on in the summer, Moyes has a glass ceiling I've said from day one, as soon as he hits it he needs to be moved on. We won't though, we will plough through until December/January until it's untenable and waste the season.

Yeah he did great last season, this season his performances and results have tailed off significantly as the season went on especially in the new year where he's only gained like two points over Dyche last season when he got sacked.

We got most of our points last season under Moyes too, not under Dyche for whom we were in genuine relegation form for the first half of last season. Lost Branthwaite after only a few games this season which has left our defence fairly fragile for much of it, and only got half a season out of new signing Grealish too who added a lot of quality in terms of possession and assits. Couldn't or didn't address the full back position last Summer and neither of our current Strikers are better than DCL. Our Squad is still only currently valued about 15th in the League and is still disjointed after years of lack of investment and managerial changes, during which we were very lucky to survive on a few occasions. Lots of clubs have also suffered during the bedding-in period after moving to a new stadium too, and the disparity between home and away form suggests similar for us. The League is also appears to be far more competitive this season. That upper middle block of clubs are very tightly packed this season, meaning that our drop in form in the last 5 games has caused a sizeable drop in league placings, but we're still within 7 points of the top 6 with a game to go, whereas last year we finished 18 points short of that position's points toll. My feelings are that just a moderate haul for the last few games would've made a sizeable difference to our league placing and more again to our psychological outlook..... as shown by the polls of then and now. Coincidentally, our second season under Moyes last time also produced a much lower league placing as he tried to shuffle his low quality pack. He's had just one shopping window to improve a very stagnant, ageing, low value squad, with a mixed return so far...... but nowhere near our form of the first half of last season and most of the previous recent seasons too. I'm off to Spurs in a couple of hrs hoping for another away win.

One shopping window away he don't utilize players from the squad, he rotated the least amount of players in the league and Moyes has historically had an aversion to rotating players throughout his entire career. We brought in several players he signed off on then refused to play because of there lack of experience. This idea once he gets the necessary players we'll suddenly flourish is naive in my opinion, he's had a better team than last season and other than grealish and Branthwaite (who has been missing most of the season) no major injuries yet he hasn't won a match since March , only 5 wins this season it's a serious drop in results which should indicate he's not the man to lead us if we have serious ambitions. Same lineups and tactics every week extremely late and poor selection of substitutions. His game management has been awful and you think new recruitment will remedy this?

Sorry, but I have to completely disagree, we would have gone 100% under Dyche, I saw it with my own eyes, we were shocking. He panicked after the first few games when we let good leads slip.

He’s had 3 shopping windows - he chose not to use two of them.

I think the quality of our squad is wafer thin in many areas and non-existent in some parts, so that will always limit rotation options, and yes I think recruitment could make a substantial difference IF those key missing elements like a functional RB, a genuine Striker or 2 and a young Gana could be acquired..... because we simply don't have them at the moment.

He arrived during the first one, and we were doing ok before the next January one..... and it is always subject to availability and budget. So essentially he's had one summer window and had a budget of roughly the equivalent of just one of Liverpool's signings.

We will never know ,the fact remains the asre has dropped out of the team and it is his responsibility to sort it .He won't because he an arrogant man just watch his pressers ,he thinks he has the best team on the pitch and never wants to change ,willingly . His lack of use with the fringe players is a joke ,I want to know who signed off on :-
Alcaraz -who is apparently out of the door
Aznou -who couldn't get a game after looking good
Dibling -who isn't ready
then kept Armstrong but didn't play him
This is something the club should tell us because whoever it is is the root of the problem .
We can argue over the point of resigning players ,I see the value in no transfer fees for the club but fringe players should be that ,we cannot go on playing substandard players and players out of their best positions when we have others to come in .

Not only does Moyes blame everything and everyone else for his short comings but he even has fans doing it now.

Players were lined up to be signed before the first one including Truffert and Wesley. He rejected both. So annoying when people say he’s got no full backs - he made that choice

Players identified by Thelwell who was doing a great job and undoubtedly Moyes got him the chop. Now we are stuck with Angus “Happily Dissatisfied” Kinnear talking crap and have no idea who does what what with transfers except Moyes has final say

You clearly knew that our squad was small, as did everyone else. Surely this January we should have strengthened knowing that players get injured.
