2025/26 David Moyes

Maybe they were just really good managers with really good teams? I'm not sure every single player who's ever played for us is gonna be a good manager, or have the comparitive financial strength some of those managers had. If there's an ex blue out there doing a really good job as a manager at any point going forward then fair enough. As of now though, there's literally only Arteta and we're not getting him any time soon.
No quite right Bobby Charlton, Nobby Styles our own Alan Ball were poor Managers - Its just a statistic with us that has never been broken - other managers just don't win a pot - worst by the way Mike Walker - no surprises there ....

Looking at the endless car crashes of trendy managers taking over pl teams then being found out very quickly and usually sacked before Christmas im alaways curious what people mean by progressive football.

Now maybe Pep coming to City was a progressive step, Klopp, who wether we admit it or not, was a successful pl manager didn’t really play “progressive” football.

Now Amorim and Martin who played floating inverted overlapping wing backs, or some such nonsense arent anyone I would like near Everton.

Slot has spent £500m to destroy a pl winning team.

Emery at Villa, got completely canned at Arsenal, had to go away and then come back wiser.

We really do have to be careful what we wish for.

The 1950s side were relegated it was a journeyman's team - 3 years later promoted - HK never started with a massive budget - Graham Sharp had been signed as a youngster with other teams by previous Manager Gordon Lee - HK gambled on Andy Gray Peter Reid etc - no abundance of money ....

Harry Catterick's 1970 title team had 7 home grown players in it - although he had two big signings in it Ball & Kendall - we also had to survive on gate money back then - no Sky bonanza monies - as I stated same for every club in the leagues at that time in all eras ...

did they spend much on booze and fags?

22 men kicking a ball nowts changed same for every side in every era ...
That's nonsense mate and you know it pal, for starters its a proper business now and owners expect results and targets too be met. The days of guys like Kenwright running clubs are long gone, Id say Sullivan at West Ham is probably the last of them. That's just one thing off the top of my head, there are plenty of others but I think you know that.

So the new owners may get us a world class manager after DM - just look at Spurs that's worked out well as an example more richer than us yet fighting for their lives !

To get Europe he is going to have to beat some of the teams above us rather than setting up not to lose.

It will be interesting to see if he has it in him.

Question answered

Unfortunately beating Chelsea isn’t going to get us Europe as good as the performance was & credit to Moyes for finally getting it right at home.

The question as always with Moyes/Everton (& many other teams) is can they keep it going when the opportunity is there & the pressure is on.

The next 4 games should answer that. 🤞

Yes but he does well in the under 23 set up too...
Yes but its International football mate, you were suggesting that Moyes 'show him the ropes' he isn't taking instructions from Moyes mate he is a 50 odd year old man. He has shown little desire to get involved with club football despite being linked with a variety of jobs in recent years, I don't think he is too keen on all the media stuff which for PL is part of the gig.

Yes, I remember Mourinhos reply when a reporter said his team were boring.
Winning trophies is the kind of boring I want, and I don't care how we do it.
