2025/26 David Moyes

Not seen anyone saying he needs sacking if we ls but at the same time we have to start learning too play these types of teams at some point and stop playing the victim card before a ball is even kicked as a way of making excuses for the manager. There are very few games left now sacking the manager would not make sense, think its a load of tosh that.
Dave was saying there are swathes of Everton fans who don’t like Moyes but said he can only point them out if we lose to Chelsea. My point was that if they are only visible then, they need a reality check. And if they are only visible after losing to Chelsea, they will likely be calling for him to be sacked because of it.

The only way that’s going to happen is if we buy better players. I don’t know why people expect us to regularly beat teams that are clearly a lot better than us. All of the players on the Arsenal bench last week would be first choices for us and very few of our starting 11 would get in their squad, yet Moyes is expected to come up with a tactical plan to beat such teams regularly and to do so playing free flowing football. It’s madness.

Maybe not regularly but occasionally would be nice 😊

It's Dave though mate.

No it just evens it out - the way DM has us playing we look better away - we gave Arsenal a scare - we were very unlucky not to get all 3 points .... At home we just get caught out when we open up to teams - that's the way it has gone all season TBH ...
For me we just lack the quality up front to maintain any sort of long spell of pressure for a goal. This is why we struggle at home when we are expected to take hold of the match.

Barry and Beto are both not good enough at supporting play AND offering a threat in the box and team's know they aren't much threat.

Without Grealish on the pitch nobody from the opposition is doubling up on any of our attackers because they don't need to. There's little space for us because we also have absolutely no pace.

There's very little opportunity to create overloads and fashion chances without any threat from your striker and nobody threatening enough in the midfield to require defenders to double up.

You can blame Moyes for that whatever way you like. It comes down to the quality of the squad which he also takes the blame for now.

I'd just like to leave this here. Consider it the virtual equivalent of pinning a newspaper article to the dressing room wall. Except this is purely for the manager, not the players...

Wondering if Moyesy ever read that - suspect he's not one not to read the papers, given he has taken to referring obliquely to "criticism" in recent pressers. Hope so, for the benefit of his motivation levels today!
