What would having a 20 goal per season striker achieve?
What would having a 20 goal per season striker achieve?
You may be mocking the question, but it’s a genuine question, if the Moyes critics are adamant we should be doing better, then what would be the point in replacing Barry and/or Beto? If they’re good enough to have Everton right in the CL mix. Why would we need Lukaku or equivalent?Truly, what a conundrum this is.

Probably a champions league push? What would having a 20 goal per season striker achieve?
Yeah, more goals for a team that's amongst the lowest scorers in England is definitely not needed and won't bring us more points/good things, I agree. You may be mocking the question, but it’s a genuine question, if the Moyes critics are adamant we should be doing better, then what would be the point in replacing Barry and/or Beto? A striker or even any attacker under Moyes has never scored more than 16 goals in a seasonProbably a champions league push?
It’s kind of comforting, to see the battle lines already being drawn a couple of hours before kick off.
YakubuA striker or even any attacker under Moyes has never scored more than 16 goals in a season
But that’s not what I said is it? If you read further back I clearly said that in my opinion our current strikers aren’t PL standard, I was asking Moyes critiques (as in those who think he should be doing better with the players he’s got) why us having a Lukaku type striker would be necessary. Yes I’m being sarcastic.Yeah, more goals for a team that's amongst the lowest scorers in England is definitely not needed and won't bring us more points/good things, I agree.
Would you not want a 16 goal a season striker? Who was our last one? In fact other than Lukaku have we ever had one?A striker or even any attacker under Moyes has never scored more than 16 goals in a season
The standard in Europe has dropped off a cliff more like. Look at Bodo/Glimt knocking out last seasons beaten 'Champions' League runners up Inter Milan for exampleThe league is very competitive from top to bottom for once. The English clubs are doing well in Europe which isn't indicative of a week league.
No pressure then...I've just sold the family dog and put the whole lot on it mate.
Ignore is your friend.Your attitude is pretty tiresome.
Only 15 in a season at least in the leagueYakubu

To clarify, I know what a Lukaku type striker would do for us, as I know what a Coleman/Baines like set of full backs would do for us.
Everton haven’t finished in the top half since 20/21 and we had one of the greatest managers ever in charge (although he under performed IMO)
Prior to that it was Silva in 2019. In fact we’ve finished top 10 only 4 times since 2013. 4 times in the last 13 years.
