2025/26 David Moyes

Not in all circumstances, ie Emery probably the wrong guy for a relegation fight, but I certainly think they have more chance of winning something given the resources at Moyes disposal now.
We’ll soon see how Frank gets on with Spurs.
Moyes has only just got these resources mate , so how can you possibly judge. Lets not forget that Moyes had the dispirited bunch he inherited from Dyche , in almost european qualification form.
Also managed to get us our only Champions league top 4 finish with a pittance of a budget back in the day , and regularly had us knocking on the door of european qualification..
Only time will tell. In my opinion he will get the best out of our new guys , but desperately needs to be given a decent RB and CM to work with.

The club is in safe hands with him, thought that as soon as he walked through the door. The last manager dragged us down to his level and had loads of people in our fan base believing that being better than 3 other teams was something to strive for.

Moyes is a manager that offers genuine real stability and solidity, bumming around the bottom 5 every season is not stability. Just like in his first spell, he will raise the bar of expectation and everyone will probably be fuming that we haven’t got European football at the end of the season. That would be a testament to the job he’s done to turn the club around after picking it up in the gutter.
I applaud this climb down. True reflection.

You can have an honest conversation about Davie and his limitations, and that’s fine. But to look at those 3 goals we scored today, and say that he’s a ‘dinosaur’ or a ‘hoofball merchant’ or ‘no better than Dyche’ is literally insane. If we add a couple for numbers and stay relatively injury free then we could be in for a nice season.

defo mate davek can’t stand it

Biggest concern with Moyes is he’s clearly not a fan of Beto (correctly so, garbage) yet he’s played him tonight to protect Barry, who may well be equally garbage. If we don’t sign a striker we are goosed.

:coffee: you sure about that Perce?

Having spoken in his pre-match press conference about Beto's excellent attitude, willingness to learn and humility, Moyes was pleased to see Beto get on the scoresheet for a second time in four days, while revealing his plan to keep shuffling playing time between the Portuguese and summer signing Thierno Barry.

"I'm going to change Beto and Barry around, I want to try to keep them fresh," he said. "I wanted Barry to get some game time which he did do and he did a great job at Brighton, assisting the goals with his link-up play. But I just felt maybe Beto might have been the right one to come here and know a wee bit of their ground and what it might be like. But I need the two of them, we'll be firing, I need the two of them, we'll be scoring goals and we might chop and change them as we see at different times.

"But Beto's just got two goals now, got one in midweek, got one today. And that's what you need to do as a striker. You just need to keep getting the goals and he starts to get the numbers a lot bigger."

Couple more additions and Moyes will have a very decent squad on his hands.

It looks and sounds like he has changed somewhat from his 1st spell but the real test of that will come in the big games.

I hope very much he now has the confidence to play to our own strengths in those matches.
