The article....

"Dave Thomas, the former England footballer who is now almost blind, has raised more than £20,000 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association since Sportsmail revealed his plight last December.
Thomas, 65, a tricky winger for Burnley, QPR and Everton who played eight times for England, has severe glaucoma and is on the list to receive a guide dog.
Next week he hopes to cap his efforts by auctioning a unique collection of signed Premier League football shirts in aid of Guide Dogs"

Brings me back to my teenage years - Thomas bombing down the wing and putting over pinpoint crosses for Latch.

I wish him all the very best and hope he gets a dog soon. I have a very good mate who is a VIP and has had guide dogs for about 15 years - the independence they have given him over those years is incredible compared with when he was using a long cane.
