I can see drunken driving has never affected your family because if it has you would have a different opinion. Just because he is a footballer on your team doesnt mean you should exempt him on issues that could and have killed innocent people.
My cousin was killed by a drunk driver and recently a coworker was killed while cycling by a drunken driver. Trust me when one of your loved ones are killed by a drunken driver you will see it definitely is as bad as you think.

Ok mate again I take that stance & understand if people feel like that . So if you don't mind I'll ask the same question , you'd sack/transfer list any first team player in the same circumstances? Presumably you felt the same about Duncan and still feel the same that he didn't/doesn't belong at our club ?

I'm genuinely not looking to be argumentative just to get your position . It's clearly a subject that's emotive to you so I'm trying to see if that transcends any ability connection with players etc..[/QUOTE]

I believe people are entitled to second chances. Yet the lax sentiments on this board are appalling. I would doubt many on here would be so "forgiving" if it was just a regular joe on the street that hit three bikers or if you had someone you know that had been killed by a drunk driver.

But like i said, people are entitled to second chances and i think Gibson is entitled to that second chance. If i was Roberto, I would ban him for the first 5 matches he is fit for. And let him know if he ever gets in the car again after drinking he'd be sacked.

But to have the sentiment that it "isnt as bad as you think" i think is very very incorrect.

I said , I think , that it wasn't good but in my opinion it's " not as bad as some seem to think" . In fairly happy with that sentiment to be honest .

Lifetime ban then

Has it ever been acceptable to drink drive and run over a cyclist, before crashing into a petrol pump whilst wearing no shoes?

It used to be frowned upon if you didn't do those things after a night out, I sometimes go down to the car and set the air bag off in my face just to remind me of the good old times.

I bet cyclists are secretly made up when they get hit by cars so they justify to themselves that buying that go pro was a solid investment.

Are you taking the proverbial FIVE matches - he barely plays a game he gets injured so he is finished as a player imo ideal for the club to get rid - any other profession - sacked!

Any other job sacked for drunk driving really ? I accept that if driving is part of your job then obviously but many other professions I'm confident you wouldn't get the bullet . That's not to say that in many you would but it's not universal and my opinion .

Also as I've stated in my opinion Gibson's lack of appearances and recent injury record contributes to this . I firmly believe that we wouldn't have this conversation about stones or lukaku and I'm sorry that makes it a bit cheap .

Hit and run the person he hit could have been dead the drink driving is just a side issue!
