'Darron Gibson has suffered a small fracture to the fifth metatarsal of his foot and will miss today's game against Southampton.
The midfielder will now be monitored by Everton's medical staff in the coming days and surgery may not be required.'

Doesn't sound like he should be written off just yet.
 
He should be gone in the summer, has cost the club a fortune.

Pointless to have someone who cant even make 10 matchday squads a season

...I suppose there's plenty of reasons why some lads are more prone to injury than others. It is a factor when considering who comes in and who goes out. Hopefully this fella will put a major run of games together but that is looking unlikely.
 
Remember Peter Reid being looked upon as a crock when we first signed him.Players can go through periods of getting injured on a regular basis and then come out of it to play on a regular basis,hope this happens with Gibson,he's young enough and on his day a real talent.
 
Feeling real sympthy towards him, i don't know, maybe offer him a pay-as-you-play contract, otherwise it's just not smart having him around injured most of the time.
