It's absolutely pointless him being here and that's been the case for about 3 years. I have nothing personal against the lad but the day he leaves will undeniably be a good one for the club, a wage will be saved and hopefully a youth player (Davies) with more dedication will be given the opportunity instead. Nothing worse in life than someone who just coasts.

Can you blame him though?

I mean, yeah, he's injured a lot, but he has had periods where he plays 10-15 games in a row with no problems, and he is a fantastic midfielder with an impressive passing range. Maybe Koeman thought he can fix him with better preparation and all that, and keep him as a backup? Obviously so far it's backfired, but then again Besic got injured after 7 seconds on the pitch as well, so it's also really bad luck for us/Koeman/both players.

personally think hes dreadful. Alot is said about his passing because he passes forwards, doesnt get assists though because he cant run or drive forward, he also cant tackle and is always injured.

Oh and he gets wasted and runs over cyclists.

As a comparison, both him and Barry have the same amount of assists (WhoScored.com), except Barry's played about 500 games more.

He's a good passer of the ball and can spot the pass that releases a player to play the ball forward etc., but he's not the person who will drive it forward. You need both types of players and I believe Koeman recognises that.

Sadly, Gibson's a crock.

For me, Barry plays (mostly) the simple pass and his game is all about positioning and defending.

Gibson imo is a lazy player who stands around until he gets the ball and then passes it forward. I dont see what he brings other than forward passes and hes no pirlo.

Literally what he isn't. With Moyes when we bought him he was amazing, doing what Barry did basically. He did the same in the game against City when he was out for about a year and came back unfit - still bossed it.

So basically, my reply should've been this:
Ok mate x

"bossed it?"

Seriously? Was he man of the match? How many goals did we win by?

When we playing under Martine Gibson looked like a pretty good option because he was willing to put in a forward pass but now under Koeman his value has dropped dramatically. Can't understand why he was given a new contract.
