It's nice that everyone is taking the opportunity to stick the boot in with morale outrage as a distraction from their own miserable lives.

Innocent until proven guilty, but if he is guilty, then I think the fans have a right to have a go. He's paid a fortune, never fecking plays, and now is harming the reputation of the club. Mainly however it's just an immensely irresponsible thing for someone to do. If you get behind the wheel when drunk, it means you're risking ending the lives of others because of your stupidity. I don't see how that's not just cause for morale outrage.

Normally I agree that people are too sensitive. When footballers swear at the camera etc and people have a hissy fit. But lots of people lose their lives because of idiots and cowards who do what Gibbo has been accused of doing, and so if he has done it, then he deserves all the bile coming his way.

That said, I think people should hold off until the facts come out. Internet mob mentality is tedious.

He's only played more than 10 league games in a season once since he's been here. Don't know why we are/were thinking about renewing his contract anyway tbh.

I think if any of these had the same injury/playing record as Gibson and had done the same then the answer would be yes

I doubt it.

People still sing Big Duncs name to the roof tops most games yet he did and didn't get this sort of castigation and he probably had a very similar injury history to Gibson.

Have all the facts been released now then? Or have you got insider knowledge on this?
Just pure speculation, but I want to get rid of him anyway because he literally doesn't play for us (using this crash as an excuse).

And rather, the crash doesn't matter - it says there was alcohol involved so he shouldn't have been driving at all imo.

Have I stumbled into the Daily Mail comments by mistake? Shame on Darron Gibson but also on some of you for being a perfect parody of Furious In Faversham.

Main thing is that the cyclist is ok. The law will do rightfully what the law will do with Gibson and he will have to take it on the chin and then be offered help and a club decision on what do. I would take no delight from seeing one of our own sacked from his job for a tithead moment that lads in their twenties are prone to.

What about Ferguson and Pienaar? Ask yourself honestly if this was John Stones would you be screaming for his head too?

He's been a tit but those doing their Daily Mail impression need to simmer down a bit. He hasn't even been convicted yet, although it looks probable he will. Prepare your letters for Barlinnie.

I like the fact he failed a drug test and was carrying 4 saddle bags full of blood on the back of his bike has been glossed over

not sure but in the real world people suffer when they do stupid things, luckily for gibson hes a millionaire premier league footballer so will get it easier than most.

I agree it's an injustice mate, I'm all for him feeling the wrath that a normal person would, but tbh I feel like I forfeited the right to feel aggrieved about his celebrity status without being a hypocrite when I cheered him on in an Everton shirt. It is evident that not everyone thinks this way... maybe I'm wrong and should be more 'flexible' with my standards or even have two sets of them.

when stones was out injured was he out drink driving and knocking people down or was he doing his best to recover and get back earning his wages?

It has obviously been such a struggle for the media to find a picture of Gibson in an Everton shirt, the photo I saw this morning wasn't with the current crest, or the one before it, but was the one before that!

So you're outraged by his playing career and are just using this traumatic incident as an excuse to have a go at Gibsons unfortunate medical history?

You're somewhat right; people are quicker to chastise because ultimately they're not arsed about him as a player. It's easy to judge Liverpool for defending Suarez but until John Stones or Lukaku does something awful, we can't really compare. Though ultimately I doubt they would, as Everton generally sign players with a bit more character.

However whether or not the cyclist is okay (thankfully he is of course) it doesn't change the wrongness of the crime, because if you get behind the wheel when drunk, it's out of your hands what happens. It's a bit like playing Russian Roulette. Taking that chance with human lives is what's so unforgivable. I just can't fathom how you can brush it off like it's just one of those things. Whilst I think people are in this day an age, only ever half a second away from outrage, I think this is a valid thing to be furious about.

I liked him when we at least saw him 10-20 games a year o so, his passing was invaluable.

But like someone else said he's played like 5 games in 2 years and is now just eating our wages, can we really afford to keep him in that scenario?
