That Castaignos lad, oh that's as good as done. Bill's dug deep and agreed a 3m loan deal by using his profits from his Theatrical escapades.

I've just looked on his wiki page and he looks like he's got a robotic left leg.

I really think Gibson is a great signing at a bargain price.

If you take it that moyes plan is to play 3 central midfielders like all the top teams do... Whether it be 2 holding and 1 advanced attacking or 1 holding and 2 more advanced then we need players to play there and cover injuries.

We'v all been whinging are ass's off about nev and heitinga playing there and now with Gibson arriving it leaves us with good options there. Fellani or Rodwell holding... Rodwell, Gibson, Osman and Barkley in the more advanced roles. Even Cahill and dare I say pienaar an option if we could do a deal.

Just get a bloody striker please mr moyes !

Im not being negative...Im just being realistic. Especially when its got fans excited about him turning up, hoping he's gonna be the one that got away from Fergie.

I like the price and Im glad he's signed. But for any other club, this/him etc is just a bread and butter signing. To us, its like we've dropped on gold no one else has just because we've spent a few bob.

Happens a lot when players turn up here. Castillo, Straq, McFadden...there's always optimism.

we just have to hope he is good for us. i hate the fact that allaround negativity is being poured all over the place. like on me, im just a little gnome here.
i prefer optimism, even in darkest hours...

Perspective peeps.

Lets be honest, if we'd just spent half a mill on someone from Barca, Real or Inter who was once their 'hot prospect' we'd be very happy. We'd say he's worth the risk and all get right behind him. Well when I last checked MU were of the same calibre as the other teams mentioned therefore we should think this has the potential to be a great buy.
Arteta and Pienaar cost very little and their background was not as illustrious, they started very slowly but we supported them and look what that did for them and us. Darren deserves the same.

I genuinely feel disappointed that some are slating the lad before he starts. C'mon lads, give him a chance! You never know...

I agree with you there.

However if we are planning on Rodwell on not being here then surely the same could be said of Barkley and then there is always Fellaini too.

I suspect that with all of them a midfield 3 would line up something like this

Fellaini
Rodwell Gibson

Interesting to see who will play though in a 4-4-1-1

Fellaini - Gibson or Fellaini - Rodwell or Gibson - Rodwell

Time will tell.

My feeling is that Moyes is aiming towards

Barkley Gibson Fellaini Geuye

True. I'm guilty of instantly thinking that an un-known player from another country will be great. I think it is a really good signing and until he proves it not worthy I shall support the lad.

Thanks for saving me the bother of replying to that post DT. The feller is desperate to write of Gibbo before he kicks a ball for us, which is kopite behaviour. Here's hoping he gets a bit of confidence and makes the squad for the Euros. Most people are getting behind him now which is great.

He,s a tit equaliser, full stop. Anybody who can slaughter a new everton player before he has a chance to prove himself in a blue jersey is a tit. Ridiculous behaviour

My red mates have been texting me today because I thought Gibson was great when he first came through and then after he scored his first long range scorcher I declared him out of our price range.
I'm happy at this signing.
