Player Valuation: 1p
Bottom 9 teams are :

Everton 28 pts. -4 gd
Palace 27 pts -7 gd
West Brom 27 pts -10 gd
Hull 26 pts -10
Sunderland 25 pts -14
Qpr 22 pts - 18
Burnley 22 pts -19
Villa 22 pts -23
Leicester 18 pts -18.

So essentially to go down palace and west brom need to get 2 more points than us, hull 3 more points, sunderland 4 more points and 2 of qpr, burnley and villa need to get 7 more points that us or leicester need to get 11 more points.

So, on current form, are 6 of those teams doing that. Are they getting much more points than we are?

Over the last 6 games, we got 7 points. Now we had both chelsea and city so the hardest fixtures of any of those 9 but that's our current form: 7 out of 6. If 6 of the bottom 8 teams got more than that in the last 6 games we're in trouble.

Palace got 10 points and West brom got 8 points.

Hull got 7 points. Sunderland got 5 points. Burnley 5, Leicester 4, QPR 3 and Villa 0 from the last 6.

On current form we'd be overtaken by 2 of those teams. Which would leave us 14th. We can start panicking when another 4 teams start gaining on us. Right now they're losing ground.

We'll trudge over the finish line in the lower mid table region.

I was convinced up until today that we'll eventually click and put a good run of form together but I just can't see it now. We've had plenty of chances to get a little run together but messed it up each time.

It's utterly ridiculous that we even have to talk about this isn't it mate. The players, staff and management should be utterly ashamed of themselves with this season's lack of performances.

Nice analysis. I feel better already.

we aren't losing games (bar Chelsea) so could be a lot worse, look at villas form in comparison

we just need a win from somewhere

Spot on. In terms of performing below expectations this season we are winning by a country mile.

no, because you've already copied and pasted what you've written. they'll take it down then you'll create it again without the typo in the thread title and click the paste button - live with your shame and mistakes!

drop howard, we'll go back to the clean sheets and grind out the odd 1-0 wins because we have goals in our team.

jet the useless retard off and get in a proper keeper and next season we can compete for CL again, look what de gea has single handedly done this season. not even to do with all the money they've spent, shaw is usless and had no impact, their defenders have been constantly injured, rooney has barely had a shot all season van persie is past it and di maria has about about 3 good games.

this league is very poor atm, look at the amount of tosh in that top 8. barely a good player in sight.

Actually mate I'd rather not patiently wait, and risk us continuing to underperform, before demanding improvement.

Dropping out of the top ten, being overtaken by the likes of Newcastle, West ham, Swansea and Stoke in the process, is unacceptable. That's Stoke who are eight points ahead of us. STOKE. Let that sink in for a second. Stoke, according to the league table, are better than us.

For some clubs, this scenario is not a disaster... But it is for us. Our history and our prestige as a club makes our current position unacceptable. Our finances, partly dependent on high league finishes and the consequent increase in televised games, makes our current position unacceptable. The difficulties that will arise in keeping our best players, and attracting new top-tier signings, make our current position unacceptable.

Does the phrase "Nil Satis Nisi Optimum" mean anything to you?
