Lotto Jumbo kicked out Lobato and punished two other riders for Nocatamid and Stilnoct (medication for sleeping - no doping).

Idiots how can they be so stupid. Stilnoct is like somebody turns on an off switch in your brains, as a result it's also highly addictive (and tolerance etc, like all the similar medicines). It's also used as a legal high (by all sorts of athletes as it's not on a doping list); if you squash a couple of pills and put in your drink you start to hallucinate. You're not really aware of what you're doing though. You start doing strange stuff; like sitting in the bath with your clothes on, running around the hotel naked, cross-dressing (assuming you normally wouldn't) etc... VDB managed to take ten (some say 20) a night; demons and all I assume.

What I am trying to say here in a not so succinct way: don't use it. Well done Lotto Jumbo.

want to believe in team sky, but with all these scandals now coming out, its very hard to believe in them.

I know they will take the permitted rules on substances to the the absolute limit and no doubt employ very qualified doctors to make sure they are within permitted boundaries, but some of the other stuff like the wiggin's incident should be totally transparent, from a team that like to say they are 100% clean.

froome has always been an enigma. he hasn't followed the so called development line of classic riders, such as Contador, yet wipes the floor with them on the grand tours.. something just isn't right with him. I'm sure it will all come out in ten years time or more..

gunna be honest, ive never sat here and watched a full stage but I find it very exciting when they are to last 20KM or whatever and its a battle to see whether they'll catch the leading group or not.
Dont think its that popular in the UK (may be wrong) but it should be. Its pretty big everywhere in Europe.

Same with Rugby league, might be a 'wool' sport but it's boss.

its huge in the UK !

and your missing some of the best parts of the race, by missing most of the stage. the tactics used in the big races and team work needed to carry out the tactics are quite mind blowing.

the last 20km is normally the result of the previous 200km's tactics being carried out to perfection, or not in some cases!

You really have to enjoy cyclocross if you come over here for a couple of months every year to make up the numbers (like the American and Australian in the video - they speak English).
Cross is boss, as you know - sounds like a great thing to do - albeit one requiring the bank of mum and dad, as no one is paying you to make up the numbers. Thing is, they can go home to the US and Aus and lay down the law with the skills they learn. The raw athleticism of top US riders, say, is likely no different from the top Belgians, it's just such a technical, hard sport that they can never master without that cyclocross culture.

Yeah it's off course an admirable thing that they are able to chase their dream. They seem happy.

Most of them have quite extravagant characters like the Japanese one: .

Quite a significant difference. 2 KM in a TT= 10 seconds.

The UK 10 mile and 25 mile TT records were smashed this year by Marcin Bialoblocki on the same weekend (think he rides at pro-continental level). For the 25, he had earlier posted 43 mins dead (that's 35 mph average speed!), but was disqualified for riding the event nearly in the middle of the dual carriageway course. He basically rode all the way over to the right of the inside lane, benefiting from over-taking cars giving an aero-dynamic pull. While it take balls of steel to ride like this, it is obviously dangerous so it was struck off.

He came back later and set the legal record at another event with a 44.

Similarly to our brief exchange the other day, has Dan Roan ever posted anything about Pep and his past? Anything at all? I can't find any mention from him about the three failed tests at City in a 5 month period, or the fact that Barcelona under him were widely linked to Operacion Puerto, that he's taken doctors implicated in doping to every club he's managed, or indeed that Pep himself failed a test for drugs. Not a peep. Funny that isn't it?

it is, pep is the media darling who can do no wrong, abuse a doctor on the touchline, and the press cover his tracks, he should be castigated just as much as team sky

An awful lot more so imo, given that not only did he fail tests as a player, but his team has failed a bunch of tests lately, whilst his former team had the state cover up one of the biggest doping cases in sport.

Taking an asthma medication that has no performance enhancing affect is peanuts in comparison.
