As bumpy as those cobbles are I reckon the Tour of Britain could go on a route just as bumpy on actual roads, maybe someone should come up with a route that shames local authorities into fixing them.

I'd be quite happy if Wiggins retired to be honest. His head doesn't seem in it at all these days. With Stannard and Thomas both aiming for Paris Roubaix they have to be the main men. EBH doesn't seem like he's ever going to fulfill his promise.

Will he not have another go at the worlds TT? Thats all I can see him winning, no idea why he's being talked up as a PR contender, what's his best result in a spring classic?

Thomas is a bit of an odd one, he was looking good in p-n but let down by his bike handling skills again. Cant see him as a classics or GT winner in all honesty, would like him to prove me wrong though.

Lets face it though, who really cares about the world TT crown? Given the salary he must be on, if that's all he's aiming for then he's stealing a living.

Very true, but I'm still a big fan of his, at the end of the day he's palmares are quite impressive considering he's spent over half of his career on the track, he's just a very selfish man.

Oh for sure. For a couple of years he was very good, and would regularly win good quality week long stage races and finish high up in Grand Tours. It's just shocking how quickly he's fallen from that peak. I mean in Tirreno the other week he wasn't even listed as an outside contender and only managed 7th or something in the time trial.

It was the performance in the World road race that did it for me. Hanging around at the back all day and jumping off his bike as soon as he could. Very poor show.

I was a big fan and very pleased when he became the first Brit to win the Tour, but his performances since then have put me off big time.

That picture didnt look much like spring to me!

Italy innit? I was riding there in late June last year and we had a blizzard one day

Degenkolb won the Gent-Wevelgem today. I haven't seen this yet, have to stick the highlights on later.

You won't be surprised to hear that Geraint Thomas crashed.

A big problem for him, needs to sort it out, surly they have some kind of specialist that helps with bike handling skills?

I didn't see the race today but considering Degenkolb won I'm guessing it ended as a bunch sprint?

It was a little bit more selective than that. A small bunch spring perhaps you could say.
