Current Body of work - Ancelotti and Moyes

That's because very few modern day players don't want to achieve anything but a 'nice contract'
Il bet a high percentage of players would choose a 80k a week contract and win sod all than a 60k a week contract and win say a league and a cup.
Hundred percent right, that's the game we have today. I remember some time in the 60s we were find for fielding an understrength side in the cup. That rule just drifted into the mists of time. Now when teams like Burnley play squad members against Bournemouth it shows how low in priority it's gone.

Nah, can’t agree, the players have enough money. It’s not their fault what they get paid. And everyone of us wouldn’t turn down higher wages if it was us in our jobs. They want to win medals. Desperately. It’s the owners and managers who pick weaker teams in the cup because they need to stay in /on the gravy train that is the premier league

DM getting that Czech player who plays like Cahill for 2 bob was an example of
how canny the man is.

He'll get that number 9 at Brentford for 30 bob and hey presto WHU will be off to the races
next season.

Carlo on the other hand spends 20 million plus on a 29 year-old midfielder with dodgy hamstrings and no goals
in him. I have no idea who will eventually prevail but it would be no surprise if it is DM at least in terms of best use of money. million for source
Around 19 million for soucek
Paid well over 20 million for benrahma from Brentford.
Not shopping in poundland

Soucek would probably go for 50 now though. How much would someone pay for a goalscoring Premier League defensive midfielder? Looks like he could net double figures!

That is actually why he should do well there. West Ham dont have our money, but they can give him a reasonable budget.

I hate to break it to you but we aren’t going to win on Saturday and trying to highlight an unlikely imagined result as a way of saying the season hasn’t been bad rather highlights how bad it has been.
We have become a negative team with the creativity drilled out of us.
Honestly feels a bit like when Koeman was managing us, we are just lazy and slow and easy to beat by anyone who will put the effort in...

Did what Moyes still has wet dreams of doing...
Absolutely made up for Carlo today.
Moyes not the only Everton manager not to get anything against that lot either.
Unlike Koemann , Martinez , Silva etc., at least we were generally competitive against them under Moyes. Despite never beating them under Moyes , some of those derbies were totally determined by shocking , if not perverse , refereeing performances.

That's a very fair point

MOM today was Carlo with the tactics. Think he has now beaten the [Poor language removed] 5 times.

He‘s in a different league to the likes of Moyes, Silva, Martinez et al & makes them look like journeymen.

Under Moyes he would’ve already chalked that game off as a loss and moved on. He never faced an RS team that good either and in a few of the derbies we probably edged it in terms of who had the better team.

Probably best to close this embarrassment of a thread now eh?

All you can really say is that Moyes is doing wonders where he is. West Ham are unrecognisable from some of the team's they've put out over the years and he's found a few of his typically unfancied signings who've turned out well
