Ever experienced it while abroad?

Well,as an expat,I was shocked at how politically correct British society is.

One other thing that shocked me was how sensitive most Brits are. That's in stark contrast to South Africans who tend to have a callous indifference to others' suffering. News of a ''necklacing'', ''corrective rape'' or the killing of protesters by cops rarely make front page news in South Africa, it's just another day in S.A really. So I was pretty shocked when I was given a tongue lashing by me Brit mates for making light of a ''harrowing'' front page story that was on one of the British publications. Ever had similar experiences abroad?

Im not sure its Brit attitude that is shocking, but the and your numbness to most the stuff you just mentioned !!

Raping of white babies as a cure for Aids is shocking as hardly anyone in this Civilised country of ours (and most "Normal" Countries on the planet), is sick enough to even consider it.

Not sure that refraining from making jokes about rape is about being politically correct, mate.

Not so hot on them Paris people, although it's mainly to do with them up their own arse Parisians. What a bunch of horrible tvvats they really are. I do like France and it's folk and they are actually quite alright in general, but be warned, stay away from the Parisians. Also, we had to share Rome day tour with these look down their snout horrid tvvats. Also Argies, men especially can be quite touchy..their women are totally opposite like.. horny babes.. especially when they suss your British..

I find it's like I have to apologise to everyone where I go because of my ancestors. FFS Im not even English..

I'm having a bad day here.

Basically, pretty much everyone can koff.

Apart from Scandies. We love them, they love us. Craziest/ friendliest people I've ever met.

You mssing the point mate. Someone that grew up in a violent society is bound to get dissensitized. So that's why I was surprised by how Brits,in contrast to Saffers, are sensitive (which is a good thing btw). Anyway let's not make this about me. I wanna know about your experiences abroad.

I once had a curry when drunk which made me poo on the floor of an Ibiza toilet cubicle.

I've disliked most locals of the countries I've been to if I'm honest with you. This is of course discounting the drunken 'best mates 4eva' you make when you're out smashed. The only countries where the average person has impressed me have been Sweden and Norway.

I dislike how crazy foreign supermarkets are. All the stuff seems to be put in some mad order and all mixed up, not to mention the packaging always looks like you're on a magic mushroom trip.

Sainsbury's and Tesco's are just much better.

Yet having said that you always find some weird and wonderful cereal you've never heard of which is much better than naything youve had before.
