I find it strange that people are so critical of Martina when others who deserved criticism much more get off far more easily.

Martina cost us nothing to sign, I would expect was on modest wages(relatively speaking) and actually covered the left back spot reasonably well although out of postion and in a team where everything in front of him seemed poor and disjointed.

I think the management are not concerned if he stays or goes and I think he could do a decent job for a championship team which is probably about his proper level.

I tend to agree. We got him on a free and he was played out of position for most of the season and tried his hardest, unlike half of them. The fact that he wasn't good enough isn't really down to him is it.
