Neither is O’Brien but that doesn’t stop him getting picked at right back and I have my doubts he’s that good at centre back, another safety first player like Keane.

I was mainly joking, but it’s fine margins. To me we really seem vulnerable when we let guys get to the byline and whip in crosses.

Theres been a few matches were we’ve allowed guys to out in excellent balls under minimal pressure.

Defence is far too fragile and slow. Especially when Jarrod is missing. Panic at the Dicko seems to be a regular event.
They also sit too deep and invite pressure which inevitably leads to shots and goals. We allow possession outside our area from every team - not just City who everyone allows that freedom.
We should be keeping attackers outside our box - no-one should be deeper than the penalty spot from bog standard attacks.
Let Pickford handle anything in between.
It's plain to see Tarky and Keane are slowing up though - and their reactions are not sharp enough.
We can score goals when we need to but defensively it's a horror show - whether this be from corners or other set pieces or just pressure we allow to build by sitting too deep. Defensive coaches need shooting. We can all see what's going to happen when we retreat into our box.
Moyes game management is also questionable. Pickford has one weakness and that's his size. He can't do anything about that but he does need protection. Moyes always takes off the lads who can defend corners amd set pieces when we are up against it which invariably lead to them scoring.
Until we fix this we are always likely to bottle it when games should be seen out comfortably.

Yeah, agree on CBs. Also the failure to replace our FBs invites pressure, too.

The waste of last summer's window is so clear. Moyes will go for a CB though, and give Seamus another swing at RB.

One hope for next year is that Europe will tire the smaller clubs outperforming us now. But we need CF, attacking FB and for last summer's 100m to show up to take advantage of that...
