Sold off to new owners, burnt down not long after (suspicion is arson), and quickly knocked down before, I assume, a thorough investigation by the police / fire service / insurance company could take place. And all legal according to this article...

Similarish thing happened to a spot in Barrow that still isn't resolved years later but everyone reckons it was a deliberate fire to try and destroy the listed building next door to it.

My contacts in the area seem to think it's exactly that. Destroyed the listed building so the owners can either flog the land to developers or do something else with it.

Very unusual for the West Mids Mayor (Andy Street, a prize tit who wouod show up to the opening of a purse as a photo opportunity btw) to say they'll block the land being developed.

Unless he's just saying that right now to try and look cosher with it? Probs be a U-turn further down the line.

Certainly very dodgy, the woman who bought it owns the tip next door, probably hoping to sell the land for development maybe but its an area of local mining and no one mentioned it yet but its on a flood plain.

Happens quite often. You only have to look at certain property developers in this city to know the shady dealings that go hand in hand in this industry. Wouldn’t surprise me is someone from the council planning committee has a brown envelope in the post.
