Massively embarrassing but to be fair he has said he'd accept the apologies of those he's named who abused him if they were sincere. He's also offered his own which sounds quite genuine.

He'll have to step back now but the story itself shouldnt just be forgotten about. Racists who are unrepetant (like the Yorkshire board clearly are) have no place in positions of power in sport or society.

This is all true and it is right that the issues are now in the open and being investigated but given his remarks does that not put him in the same boat? If he was a active player now would he not be suspended? Others guilty of similar have been

The thing that gets me is he was given the platform in parliament to say what he liked about who he liked and trashed a few individuals in public all the time knowing he wasn't any better. The system didn't give those individuals any right to reply. For shame!

IMO .. he doesn't get to set the timeline in this. If you expect everyone to be called out for things they have historically said, then the same applies to you!

Now it’s happened, there’s a few rumours swirling round about Rafiq’s personal life, and it’s just a mess.

Every person involved and that included Rafiq, are a disgrace. How you can actively just be racist or discriminatory to someone cause they’re different is beyond me.

I’m just annoyed at Rafiq, he got everyone to stand up, take notice and now because he has his own skeletons, the whole thing will probably lay get swept under the carpet and no further action will get taken.

I'm not sure it will get swept under the carpet but the momentum of the issue has certainly lost its impetus and will likely get watered down.

Thing is. If you look hard and deep enough you will find something on most people. Nobody is squeaky clean and I bet most people have said something racist at some point or another. I despise this headline mentality we live in. There is a problem. A bloody big problem and it needs sorting. Inthink the genie is too far out the bottle. Gonna be some dark days for cricket coming up.
