NZ needed 57 from 24 balls. 9/10 England would have gone on to win the game. Pietersen was bang on in his analysis before the game. He spoke of NZ having a settled side, world test champions. Whereas he had really concerns about England in the bowling department with the loss of Mills and spoke of the huge loss of an in form Roy at the top of the order.
I guess hindsight is a great thing, but I’m sure Willey or Topley should have been brought in to add the variation our attack so badly lacked. Archer has been a massive loss. He gets wickets in the power play and barely goes for a run a ball. However moving forward, like with Mark Wood, it is difficult to plan an attack built around him as both are injury prone.
