Obviously he's gone to united hasnt it and its a massive job , I'm absolutely staggered though aren't you ? The united fans seem to be and I think a lot of other people but absolutely he's got a massive job , not just big one of the biggest in world football .

I'm still staggered by it. As you said yesterday sheeds, it makes sense only in that it would allow Ferguson to still be in on the act as a bit of a back seat driver. Moyes has no doubt been running to SAF for years for advice (maybe more than others) and you'd think that would have been a factor in his appointment.

Or, a manager who improved us by an average 7 league places over 11 years with mostly industrial football.

Us old'uns remember when Frank OFarrell took over at OT, with Busby still lurking in the background. It was a nightmare for O'Farrell and he lasted only a short time. The United fans will very quickly turn on Moyes if he doesn't keep winning, and poor results will certainly effect the United share price, here and in New York. I have grave doubts about Moyes at United...it may well be a short term thing.

Hold no grudges against moyes for this move, everyone saw him leaving this summer as his attitude towards us changed... nit surprised, more upset at the current names linked as his replacement

I bet you are surprised at this appointment, you were never a fan of Moyes. You always use to dismiss Fergie and Moyes relationship. Not having a go at you. Just that the rumours were rife for years that Moyes was taking over fergie and most of us dismissed it. I recken he will do well at Man u, he done a great job for us so cant see why that wont carry on at Man u. lol I had a dream last night that Moyes was just pretending to try and get some money of our board. wishful thinking. Should have learnt when Rooney left us.
we all knew he would leave one day, but the link to united was always a long shot considering who else was out there, still in shock this is actually materializing.
he has left us with a small aging squad with only a handful of players with any transfer value. Not only that Moyes controlled the transfers here aswell with BK now doing that we could see players sold for much less then what moyes would have got.
on top of that we will lose at least 10-15% workrate then what moyes could get out of the team and thats going to show.

I think in many ways many of us got it wrong , the 'big moyes fans' thought it was about a transfer budget and those less ' committed' to the manager thought he was looking for a job but would never get the likes of man Utd .
Do you think it's gone on for ages ? I really don't I think it's happened relatively quickly but if your a 'dedicated' moyes supporter and you think it's gone on for ages you'd have to accept that he's been lying to us and messing the club about wouldn't you ?
Like I say though I dont think this has been a done deal but I so think he was waiting for a job and he's got this . It's like a lottery win for him

I did think he wanted more spending money but wasn't against the idea of him leaving but not to Man u tho, I did noticed over the last few months he was different toward us, or even fell out of love with us, so that could mean he knew about the job and this is why he let his contract run down, no way this was overnight. His head been turned somewhere and even Kenwright didn't even noticed.

I think Ferguson will have known for a while that this was his last. It's not something you just wake up and decide IMO. How soon they started sounding people out is anyone's guess.
A man in the know says it was all sorted after the derby on Sunday. So he's at least gone into that game with it over his head.
there were only ever 2 names in the frame as long as ferguson got his say, mourinho or moyes. Mourinho wouldnt stay here for the next decade he gets bored once he loses his shine and moves on. moyes would stay for for that long if he had the chance and with ferguson behind him for the next few years he can help him sort out any problems and with transfer dealings to sign big players. dressing room bust ups ETC
I think this has been a done deal for months and I dont believe Kenwright was not aware of it.
