I really need to be convinced of the blind optimism - in fact I'd love to be convinced.
Hard facts are we don't have a pot, a hefty wage bill and need to sell to buy, I've been here before with Everton in these circumstances - it ain't pretty.
Honestly I'm astounded by the naivety and pray I'm wrong.
Let me try.
Everton FC will not perish when Moyes leaves.
A new manager will have a good first 11 and some good youngsters coming through - yes he might need or want to sell some of our most prized assets, but should get some replacements in.
Kenwright for all his wrong-doing is willing to let the manager more or less run the club- thus making it attractive to many managers.
We might end up with a manager who:
- is not scared of so-called bigger clubs
- goes for the win, not to "not-lose"
- actually gives youth a chance
- plays attacking football
- will have more than one plan/tactics.
Moyes has been great for us, but the relationship has become stale.
