The sniping has a context to it that you are very well aware of.

As for 'tremendous job', well, that's very debateable. Made us tough to beat from a team that was chronic under one of the worst managers we had in living memory. Happy to concede that, but that was his only 'success'.
He took us from near relegation to near the european places . Let's not whitewash what he did just because he has now upped sticks and said a few things. He did a good job here no more, no less. It seems a bit petty to say otherwise.

Without Moyes there would be no Martinez.

Lets not mask over what he did, the bulk of the players in the squad were bought by Moyes and as good as the players Bobby has brought in, without Moyes I doubt Lukaku, Barry would have come.

Im all for looking forward and im certainly all for hating dat der ginger weapon, but lets not dismiss what he did, he built an excellent squad on buttons, you could say he didnt "get the best" out that squad, but he took a team fighting for its life and mixed them with the big boys.

He did a good job indeed, but in the last few years, as people have noted, you can really question if Moyes made Everton what they are, or the opposite.

Plus his comments are in no way deserving of any kind of respect.

Initially, he did great things for us and dragged us out of the mire of the bottom half and subsequently made a name for himself because of it. In later years, his limitations where exposed far more and Everton seemingly reached an impasse in terms of the league, he possibly grew despondent but managed respectable if not exciting campaigns.
Irrespective of the comments, he did a good job for us. His comments merely mean he wont be well thought of by most of us.

It is sad to think that there are people hereabouts whom are still in denial over Moyes.

An average manager who touched lucky with Uncle Bill and became unsackable despite spectacularly underachieving at Goodison since he got the big new deal in 2008.

Without us he would have been on the same managerial merry go round as Big Sam, Big 'eck, Martin O'Neill, Steve Bruce. McLaren and all the rest of them long since.

The Moyes myth is being well and truly exploded by both Roberto here and by the hopelessly out of his depth Moyes himself in the goldfish bowl that is Old Trafford.

He'll be at Sunderland or Newcastle in a year or two.

He is a dinosuar....light years behind the new breed of manager coming to the fore.

Plus the wily old fox at the Emirates.

And I am beginning to think Chelsea made a big mistake fetching Mourinho back.

He is looking like yesterday's man as well.

Without Moyes we would have been relegated of that I am sure

He turned an awful ageing Everton side into a team that now finishes in the top 8 most seasons

He brought us Cahill,Lescott,Jags,Arteta,Coleman,Baines,Super Kev and Fellaini to name a few

We needed a change, He needed a change, Lets not make out he did not do a wonderful job here and act like bitter beauts

Its early days to judge Moyes, he done a great job for us, got abit stale at the end for us, we both needed a change, he could be a success for Man u.

Moyes did ok, not great; left for United and **** on us from a great height; so he's easy enough to draw a line under.

11 years that wont exactly trouble future history books about Everton too much. Half a page should cover it.

Listen moyes found his level with us and he got us consistent and stable side but it's his stubbornness and he's tactically ****e that's let him down from being a good manager . We have inherited a good stable side and we now have a manager who can take us the extra mile with his tactics. As long as he's backed with appropriate finances we should keep the stability

That Leeds fan's analogy was a cracker. On David Moyes, my personal pinion is that he should be afforded respect for his contribution to EFC. He has unfortunately undermined that respect somewhat with his machinations and comments as Manure manager. That new job really is a poisoned chalice as far as I am concerned. The old adage, 'be careful what you wish for...' comes to mind.
And, (as can be verified by my posts at the time), I knew that RM was the great hope for Everton. I stated at the time of his appointment, that Everton is on the verge on a great new period in our club's history. So far (and it's early days), my prognostication has not been incorrect.

I saw this analogy of Martinez and Moyes on a football site, posted by a Leeds fan; HAD to post it here!!

It's like the guy who stays with his childhood sweetheart, by now she's not the pretty young thing she was all those years ago and any chance of reliving the glory days of a bag off outside or quick blower are long gone, but she's ground you down, to the point now you're at the age where it's too late to start all over again, for fear of what's on the other side, the unknown.

Everton were quite happy under Moyes, having sex on birthdays and maybe new year - wanting more but not daring to ask for it should they fall foul and end up sad and lonely.

Then suddenly the wife ups and leaves you for her boss at Woolworths, and what do you know, first night out back on the horse and you find yourself with a young bird on your arm, doing all manner of bedroom antics you didn't even know they had names for wondering why you never left before, while she's cooking dinner for a guy who drives a Lexus but lives in a bungalow on the end of his mum's house.

:D

Should have written NSFW on this. Now I've got to calm down. I'll be back after my breathing exercises.

We were growing stale under Moyes, no denying it. He did do a good job for the first number of years though. I think Fergie probably saw him as a safe pair of hands who wouldn't do anything drastic.

For our part we now have an intelligent, young manager who seems genuinely delighted to manage Everton, whereas Moyes was obviously making eyes at other clubs for the past couple of years knowing that his stock was never going to rise any higher.

Introducing some cracking big words to the GOT family there. Keep them coming.
