Anyone thinking of trying out "No Man's Sky" when it comes out? Synopsis reminds me a bit of an old game from the 80s (Starflight), just worried as some people have compared it to Spore, which was gash.
I had high hopes for Spore
Spore had great reviews for the actual game when it came out, just the SecuROM DRM really soured it's reception.
not really played final fantasy, but i played shenmue? If i liked shenmue would i like final fantasy?
Any Final Fantasy fans in here? I'm so damn hyped for FFXV.
For those who don't know, Final Fantasy XV (15) has been in development for about 10 years, and was originally called Final Fantasy Versus XIII and was to be released alongside the series the FF13 games a few years ago. A lot got in the way, mainly the PS4/Xbox 1 arrival, and it was repeatedly pushed back and was nearly cancelled and finally, last week Square Enix announced its release date of 30th of September this year for PS4 and Xbone.
But, it's not just a game. Airing now on youtube is a 5-episode, 12-min-per-ep animated series called Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV which is to act as a prologue/prequel to the game. There's also a big budget CGI movie coming out called Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV with some pretty big names (Sean Bean, Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman from breaking bad), Lena Headey (Cersei from game of thrones)) which is supposed to be out sometime before the game and is set I think at the same time as events in the game.

Seriously though, dat CGI. The part near the start of the trailer with the Audi-branded car I screenshotted and sent to a friend and told him to guess the movie, he said a bunch of stuff like Batman vs Superman etc but he couldn't tell it was CGI.
As I haven't played it before, I fired up Mafia 2 on the weekend as it has been sitting in my steam library for a year or two (think I got it in a 2k Humble Bundle). Good game, but limited. A very linear game that likes to appear that it is a sandbox.
Almost all the way through the story, although I am not sure I am gonna bother with the DLC for the game.
Worth it if you get it for peanuts or as part of a larger bundle like I did.

Summed up well.
I loved that game. The story is awesome, they nail the time period perfectly but yeah it was a little limited.
Mafia 3 looks awesome so far.
It's a very good linear game shoehorned into an open world. So if you play it expecting a linear game with a good story you'll have a blast. If you want a free roaming Just Cause/GTA open world mess around then look elsewhere. La Noire had the same problem.
I had no idea what to expect, so when I started it....I was "ooo...Gta in the 1950s " only to find that you can only go into the buildings for the missions.
Also, the playboy hunt has its 'perks'
