Computer games.

I’m lucky that I changed jobs this year. I found it really hard to get into most game the last two years as I could never sink enough time into then in one sitting. Red Dead 2 which I properly struggled to engage with was a good example of this- I’d load it up for an hour or two and hardly get anything done. Until I had some time off and managed to lose myself for hours at a time I didn’t really enjoy it.
I found this with Red Dead too. I found I needed at least 2 hours to get in to it. However, it’s probably the best game I’ve ever played for just idly exploring and it’s quite nice to be able to play a game at a gentle pace for a change. I don’t really watch much TV so gaming is my way of winding down and it’s great to get properly lost in a game. I’m now playing my first ever RPG.

I miss Red Dead though. The graphics were so good it’s almost ruined other games for me.

Enjoying ‘The Division 2’ a lot more than I thought. It’s much better than the 1st one which bored the pants off me.

Really like how they have changed the Dark Zones also, so the more PVE centric players like me can enjoy it and actually stand a chance instead of being constantly mullered by some meta-build box-room virgin every 30 seconds.

They have ‘occupied dark zones’ for the min/max pvp heads which is a much better system imo.

Sorry, that's total BS. I've played FF15 to death, all achievements on PS4 and PC, and know it inside out (and how annoyingly underwhelming it is). Nothing about the FF7 remake looks like FF15.

Tactical mode will give combat complexity without losing the immersiveness of real-time fighting:

Materia systems looks perfect, with elemental effects, linkage and materia AP gain:

I've been very cautiously optimistic about it, and everything I've seen so far looks like they've nailed it. The episodic thing I think is 100% the right way to go, I just hope it properly carries through your save file.

Hi mate, looks like I was wrong. Officially excited!

I was really enjoying it when I got it last summer, then a new game came out and I never got around to getting back into it. Did you get the new expansion? I'm hearing mixed opinions about it.

To be fair, I wasn't sure Square still had it in them to innovate a new combat system that works as well as this does after the disappointments of 13 and 15.
Hype building every day now.

I hated the balls off 15 so I just expected Remake to be a lazy cash-in using the same engine and combat.

Given FF7 is my favourite game of all time, I'm delighted to be wrong! Can't believe how fluid it all is. I don't get the feeling that more complexity will break it either; it feels like it'd only add to it.

Regarding complexity, take a look at the materia screenshots in the older post you quoted. It shows elemental materia being linked with ice magic on Cloud's weapon and it works just like the original but also adds visual effects with ice shards sticking out of his sword.
I saw mention in the in-demo manual that Barrett can be equiped with melee weapons in place of his gun arm, where they could have taken the easy road and just locked him to a ranged role and not have to change his attacks, but instead stayed true to the original.

Started playing Rimworld again.

God that game is beyond addictive.

Been replaying for about a week now, im on my 4th or 5th restart, bloody megaspiders, crashed ship parts and my favourite was the 10 mecha soliders that transport podded into the middle of my base when everybody was asleep.

On my current save I had about 5 groups of yorkshire terriers join my colony, had about 50 of them running around making mess and eating my food, managed to sell them to a trader, a mech raid came while they were outside and killed all the dogs and all the traders, it was a glorious moment.

Only problem is my people have seen a LOT of battles and have various body parts missing so its not going well, but you endure!

I'm into Rimworld at the minute, not been very successful yet though, heatstroke is a bummer and mad animals. I find running out of wood a problem as well and feeding yourself gets hard.

Just started ufc 3,
First ufc game since undisputed 3.....personally think the fight mechanics feel wierd, blocks and wrestling are confusing, almost feels like you have to get hit to land
