Computer games.

Do PC people always play on monitors or do they hook systems up to TVs? Even though the graphics are better on PC I just prefer to use a console and sit on a nice couch and play on a nice big screen instead of sitting in a computer chair for hours staring at a monitor (i.e. what I do at work for eight hours every day). Doesn't that element of the experience factor in? Or do they have no money left for a nice TV and couch because their computer cost two grand and needs to be upgraded every two-three years?

Xbox One will have early access to quite a bit of stuff by the sounds of it. EA & Activision being their biggest partners.

That's worrying me. There are hoards of mindless FIFA/COD meatheads who will no doubt happily pay more and sell their consumer rights to play an extra map a bit earlier.

Personally though I couldn't care less. I do play Fifa Ultimate Team (although I wish I didn't... it just makes me angry!) so I'm intrigued to see what EA are offering on the Xbone that they're not on the PS4.

The likes of CoD has always had maps etc earlier on the 360, hasn't it? I can't see swarms of gamers jumping to Xbox, for the sake of a few weeks wait. I've known quite a few lads who're solely PS3 who bemoaned it, but waited as they weren't too arsed. At the end of the day, it's not going to be available to you or your opponent, so the gameplay won't be changed or unfair when you're playing on-line. Which, let's face it, is all these exclusives are going to cater to.

The only way I can see 360 gaining any sort of superiority is if they do get exclusivity to certain titles, such as FIFA, CoD, GTA etc. That'll never happen though.

If your computer costs two grand it will last a lot longer than three years.

Well sure ... I once got a computer that cost a few hundred and it "lasted" eight years. I tend to find (might be stereotyping) that those who care enough about getting something fairly top of the line also care about having the best option and maxing out FPS or whatever the most important spec might be these days. I mean the PC won't get binned entirely of course but I know a few people who upgrade cards every 2-3 years (and the cost of 2 top end cards is what most people spend on a PC).

Regardless, less interested in that than if people mind the monitor thing v. TV (or if they hook up PC to TV and then have another PC for computing?).

Anyone else disappointed that GTA:V wont be next-gen?
Since it would be about a year or two later to be released if it were truly next-gen (as in developed for that system rather than a port) I'm not too bothered. A port isn't going to look much better (and some next-gen ports in the past have actually been worse than the prior gen version). I just pre-ordered Watch Dogs and opted for the PS4 version however since I believe they have actually done some stuff to improve the next-gen version specifically.
