Computer games.

Initial release of WOW was their last truly great game imo. Blizzard are a absolute disgrace of a company nowadays.

I hated WOW when they released it, but sure gotta give them credit for the massive success it is. It's just not for me. I still play Diablo 2 occasionaly, but other than that Blizzard is dead to me.

Really looking forwards to the FFVII Remake now, looks like the developers have done a superb job with it. Retaining the turn-based combat option is a great choice by Square Enix.

can't wait to see how they re-do the Shinra headquarters bike chase scene with current generation graphics... should be MEGA. Also be smart to see Red XIII in Hojo's lab.

Finally getting to the gates of Midgar and being on the verge of entering the "open world" of the game map will be an epic cliffhanger…. No doubt the sequel will be pushed big time for the PS5.

Wait, what?

Oh well, hope sparked anew for a second, but nah - the remake is still very not for me.

An episodic version of FF15 with a FF7 skin over the top = a firm nope.

It is going to be incredible. Can't wait.

Sorry, that's total BS. I've played FF15 to death, all achievements on PS4 and PC, and know it inside out (and how annoyingly underwhelming it is). Nothing about the FF7 remake looks like FF15.

Tactical mode will give combat complexity without losing the immersiveness of real-time fighting:

Materia systems looks perfect, with elemental effects, linkage and materia AP gain:

I've been very cautiously optimistic about it, and everything I've seen so far looks like they've nailed it. The episodic thing I think is 100% the right way to go, I just hope it properly carries through your save file.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be amazing on PC. I’ve got a base PS4 and the frame rate suffers quite frequently particularly in the built up areas such as Saint Denis. It’s annoying but I’m not willing to buy a PS4 Pro just for it especially considering the PS5 is out next Christmas.

What's utter BS - that it's not for me? I'm not interested - that's my own opinion.

It's an action RPG, just like FF15. Particularly in combat. If it's improved, fair enough, but I detested 15 and seeing Cloud lock on in bullet time mode for a Limit Break is giving me flashbacks of Noctis teleporting.

If you think episodic is the right way to go, good for you - they need a few more million with the same mindset to charge you two or three times for one game. For me, it screams that the game will have a mountain of filler to get three titles out of it. Like how The Hobbit was stretched as thin as possible to get a trilogy out of it.

No thanks. If it gets good scores when the actual full game is out, I'll consider it second hand or something. I have absolutely no faith in Square Enix - Squaresoft are long since dead.

You said it was FF15 with a FF7 reskin, that's BS. If you don't like ARPGs categorically then whatever, but there is no resemblance to FF15.

Its far more in depth than FF15. Character switching is the clear big difference and it works pretty seamlessly. The way they've brought back the ATB bar to add a turn-based element like from the original gives a JRPG feel to an otherwise cinematic ARPG system. It's got a blend which I think makes it pretty unique and an excellent modernising of long-dead JRPG elements without abandoning a lot of them like FF15 did.

It will be the new half life 3 mate.

They won't finish it all. Would take them years and years, more than one gen as well

lol lol lol

It's amazing how people have these types of views, just because it's parroted to them. The same as how "single player games are dead", "nobody wants horror games" - no basis in reality, but people just assume it's true.

Turn based JRPGs/ATB dead? Fire Emblem, Bravely Default, Dragon Quest, Octopath Traveler, Persona, Ni No Kuni etc. etc. etc.

There is a clear resemblance to FF15 - to say there isn't is ludicrous. It is action orientated - lock on, press buttons. This isn't a Dragon Age: Origins situation where it looks built from the ground up to be a tactical game as well as an action one, where you could queue orders and tactics ahead of combat, pause and tweak and so on - it looks like a pandering addon to me instead, like VATS in Fallout 76. Basically 'Bullet Time' and you click a menu during it. A gimmick that will be used for Limit Break 'glory kills'.

Makes me laugh how the argument is that they "couldn't make the game they wanted in one game."

Yet they could manage to ship a 60+ hour absolute masterpiece back in 1997.

It's nonsense. It's the same company that did the same thing with Hitman - it's an excuse to sell the same game three plus times, that's it.

They'll make it as long as it sells well. Which is fine if it was a new IP and they wanted to mitigate risk - but this is Final Fantasy 7; it can't do anything but make money. It's pure greed.

Haha I didn't even know this was in Final Fantasy XV - shows how much of a non-factor it was.

It's even called the same in FF7 Remake - "Wait Mode".

It's a gimmick.
