Computer games.

I love Zelda and honestly think Botw is garbage. Looks beautiful but the gameplay is poor to me. And seconded on the weapons breaking thing, hate it - just made me never want to use any decent weapons.
Garbage may be a bit much, but I hated the RPGish/survival/sandbox direction they went in. Not a fan when they needlessly merge genres.

To be fair Skyward Sword and Twilight weren’t quite up to par with MM/Orcarina/Windwaker, so they probably wanted to try something new. BOTW is way overrated for me.

My mate loves it and im compelled to play it due to frandship, but I despise every game we play.

Im old, so my interest in FPS games has wained the older and slower I get it, but its just not for me at all.
To be fair I mainly play RPGs and more story based stuff, but I like the moment to moment gameplay of it - that and my friends have horrific taste in games

Not had that issue myself on PC, but I do know the September update hasn't gone very smoothly, with lots of bugs being reported. You could try the old trick of exiting to the main menu and then reopen in another mode (open, solo, group) and see if that fixes it.

If that doesn't work, have a poke around on reddit (/r/elitedangerous), failing tha then I would open a ticket with FDev. Even if it goes away, it is always good to report bugs so they are deffo aware and they get fixed.

sorry forgot to reply and say thanks. seems they fixed it.

well. fixed it and caused another issue, but the new issue i can get around

my first real experience of buying a game and a part just doesnt work. weird but normal enough nowadays i guess

enjoying Elite but would you say the overall experience jumps up considerably once youve put a lot of time in to build up funds and upgrade?

have one eye on No Mans Sky to try the VR experience

IGN makes me laugh. It doesn't matter how bad a Triple A game is, they'll give it at least 7/10.

Fraud of a website. Basically a publisher mouthpiece paid to do their bidding.
You are way better off just watching any independent YouTubers that review games. They at least know what they are talking about and know how to play video games (a lot of these journos can’t beat a tutorial). Their ratings also don’t hinge on dumb fringe politics either.

I'm not really of the opinion you have to be good at games to review them - indeed there's a lot of value to being average, because the vast majority of people who buy games are average, so you are reflecting the experience they'll have with the game as opposed to eSports pros, who are a minority.

That said, IGN simply pander to publishers. I agree that YouTubers are leagues ahead in terms of honesty and, to be honest, quality.

Look up Filip Miucin for an example of how IGN do the bare minimum - keeping publishers happy is the desired end result; a quality review is of no consequence.

Elite is the definative VR experience. Full stop. You do NOT get a sense for the size of the ships until you whack a VR set on and look around. Even the sidewinder suddenly feels BIG!

And as for the experience.....do not get fixated on thinking "oh my life will be complete when I get ship 'x'"...because it won't. Just fly around, try out all the different stuff you can do and enjoy the ride. I have been playing since 2014 and I am only Trade Elite. Yeah, I have a bunch of money and all the ships, but once I got the biggest ones, I just don't fly them. Sure, they pack a ton of firepower, but they just aren't fun to fly.....because they are so big (all that mass to move around......it doesn't happen fast).

You will find yourself having much more fun in the smaller, more maneuverable ships. So go do a big of mining, or bounty hunting....or slap on that FSD interdictor and start pirating. There is plenty of fun to be had in this game, it just isn't handed to you on a plate.

Oh, and last advice.....don't fly without rebuy.

All true. I find Eurogamer even worse.
