Computer games.

Was just reading an article that stated The Ultimate Team is responsible for 28% of EA’s total revenue.

Wow

Then they make a new one and everyone starts from scratch is it? I know gta are making an insane amount it's why 5 didn't get sigle player dlc because it was a waste of time and resources. meant to be the same with red dead. I actually seen a comparison video on gta 4 and 5 and there's many downgrades in animations and physics etc.

Last Fifa I played was 17 and I never get involved in the ultimate team so I’m not sure if you have to start from scratch once the new seasons game is released.

My son though quite regularly used any money given to him on the packs. Fortunately he’s now seeing the value of money for himself and swerves this for the most part.

Always loved the GTA series and thought 5 was/still is fantastic. Having conversations with fellow gaming nerds about the possibilities and how a GTA 6 would look and play on the next gen platform was exciting; but when you really look at it, break it all down, I can’t help but feel it would follow the ‘pay to win’ road.

It’s where we are now sadly

From time to time I like to chill out playing a game called Euro Truck simulator 2. Being a gaming nerd I have a decent setup for the game.

DLC add on’s are more expensive than the actual base game. Crazy

ETS2....is completely ace for unwinding, stick the radio on and bugger off to Holland for an hour or two...totally inane but ace

You do have to start from scratch every time. I played FUT properly for the first time last year but didn't spend any extra money on it. It was fun trying to build and then slowly improve your team but I can't be bothered with it this year as if you aren't financially juicing it takes a hell of a lot of time. And starting from scratch feels really annoying given the game hasn't actually changed.

Totally agree

Easily the most laid back fun i've had playing a video game. The hours fly by. Most would scratch their head and not understand the point of the game.

Complete chill game.

To be fair, it is much much easier to obtain packs etc than it used to be. You can play ultimate team for free and still open a lot of stuff right now

It’s not quite the same but in a similar way I love hunting on Red Dead. Just get your horse and your guns and explore the map trying to find a rare animal. The game is stunning too so it’s nice to play at a gentle pace at times.

I’m picking up a new Panasonic TV tonight and can’t wait to put Red Dead on it. I couldn’t stretch to an OLED/QLED but it’ll be an upgrade nonetheless.

Is it the hunting that is chill for you or just that you love the Read dead series and it allows you to wander off and play kinda like a mini game within a game?

If it’s the hunting, exploring a map, finding rare animals, laid back approach to it.... you should check out The Hunter call of the wild

Superb hunting simulation game if you appreciate those aspects above and have the time to learn the game.

I like the survival aspect of it to an extent e.g. hunting a bear that could easily kill you if you get it wrong. I had a zombie based game called State of Decay on the Xbox 360 which was flawed but it had perma death so you really looked after your characters and had to consider your options as opposed to going in gung ho. I think after I’ve finished RDR2 I’ll try The Long Dark.

Not really my point. I've played this years and with very little play/effort the semblance of an alright team comes together quite quickly. It's just a bit of a boring process when you start from square 1, in a largely similar game. Especially given getting a really good team together without spending does take a long time.
