Amazing. So you now pay £60 for a base game, then said game is made grindy and annoying just so you're compelled to spend money skipping a game because it's bad.

So you buy a game to pay to not play the game.

Read the above sentence and tell me the games industry hasn't gone mad. Anyone who buys that thing knowing what it is going in is a complete idiot, no ifs, no buts.

They are idiots, but the big companies prey on stupid people.

Also, the practice of releasing half finished games and then constantly patching them is a disgrace.

Thankfully the beta/demo some streamers had access to showed the game wouldn't be worth playing even if it was free to play.
 
Just had my first go at Overwatch in a long time. Much improved as far a queuing goes. You choose your class before the game starts now stopping you getting a group of turds that will only dps. Tank and healer queues about a minute and DPS queues at about 10. So glad I started tanking last time I was playing regularly. Still will do DPS when i see low queue times. Think mandatory 2-2-2 set up is a great idea personally.
 
Personally I think micro transactions are garbage, I knew once downloadable content became a more traditional offering during the early of years of 360/PS3 with the likes of extra missions that shareholders at these publishers would push it more and more and it would eventually affect the experience of a game itself. Look at EA’s Star Wars Battlefront 2 for example. Tried to sort it but it was far too late for many players.

It even got to a point for me where actually buying a game in store would be tiresome as the man/lady serving me would go on and on about special editions , pre ordering bonus gear, limited edition store exclusive cosmetic items. It went on and on.

I don’t blame the employees, they are just doing their job, I blame the state of the industry itself in some aspects. If people buy these things it’s up to them , I’d be interested in seeing how things would go from a publisher PR narrative if sales of these things plummeted across the board.

We see this time and time again these days. Its literally rife with most games and has been the way for a good few years on every platform. This never used to be the case. These days the company knows the majority user will purchase the game regardless on the given release day, and then wait for updates.

The amount of games that are constantly patched is disgusting. We are not talking about patches that oust a cheat, but patches where the games literally haven't been finished and were rushed/forced out.
 
In a world of micro transactions and loot boxes I must say I’m impressed with Polyphonic for continuing to provide free updates for GT Sport each month 2 years after it was released. They continuously tweak the game and it gets better and better. One of the best £15 I’ve ever spent.

You can pay for cars with real life money if you want but it’s not necessary at all as you win most of the good cars and the others aren’t stupidly priced in relation to what you earn.

FIFA Ultimate team is an absolute disgrace to the industry.

I was never able to get into ultimate team for that reason.
