Just done some research and found that in the two premier league seasons we stayed up on the last day, 1994 & 1998 we had actually conceded fewer goals and kept more clean sheets after a dozen games (about a third of a season) than we have this season,24 conceded so far this season with 1 clean sheet.
1993/94 we had conceded 15 after 12 games with 4 clean sheets and 97/98 it was 18 with 3 clean sheets.
Add to the fact that we haven't won away in 14 games since January and just twice in 14 months going back to September 2016, I have come to the conclusion that relegation is very probable this season regardless who we appoint.
Aston Villa tried numerous managers two years ago when they went down, but it still failed as they too were awful at the back.

How many points did we have at the same point of them seasons mate?

The goals per game have increased exponentially in the years since then. We are as crap now as then but goal stats mean jack. We just need a decent manager.
Need more than a decent manager,a class striker and a midfielder who can't pick out a telling pass in the final third.Ours are all crab like.
