Commercial performance - post TFG

You sure? Though it would be 25/26. They took over in Dec 24 and I thought we’d had 24/25 last March.
Edit - you are correct last March release was 23/24 (covering until 30th June 24) so this lot should be July 24 - June 25.
Should still show loads of debit clearance and a far healthier position.
Lots of debt clearance but not much commerical growth I would imagine.

Shirt sponsor incoming?

‘Thanks to the Friedkins’ commercial savvy and a transformative new stadium, the club is in advanced negotiations with major brands willing to pay record fees. A deal is understood to be close.’

Greater than Stake money and a reputable brand seems like a big challenge - especially with so many clubs scrambling for new sponsors.

11 of the current PL (though not all will still be PL next season) - plus at least promoted Boro you'd think will all be on the lookout for someone new.

Tough market, and if we can come out of it with a better deal than we have now, the club deserve credit.

I'm always suspicious of record fees mate - under other regimes it was usually a tenner over our existing deal.

Find it interesting the Friedkins are getting a lot of the credit, makes you wonder what the CEO etc are actually doing.
Reads like the deal makers are TFG and the club execs (except Marc Watts) are basically there to dot the i’s and cross the t’s 🤣

I guess ultimately what matters is results!

I'll take the tea lady running commercial ops if she's good at it.

In one of the graphs i posted yesterday our wage bill was 85% of our turnover while at Goodison - right at the point of allowance of the new squad cost ratio - likely any wiggle room we have now rest of the increased commercial revenue stream from BMD.

God I wish money, yanks, Arabs, sky, advertising etc were not involved in our once sport. I lament the replacing of picket fencing with ugly pitch side adverts, let alone the visual vomit inducing video ones.

Best we can all do is just never buy what's advertised. Show them it doesn't work.

Then maybe it will he down to who comes to watch attractive, interesting football through the turnstiles again, rather than who has the most oil money from non-sporting, irrelevant means.
But it does. Whether you like it or not.
