G'day everybody!

New member to the forum from Sydney Australia! Im 26 and love my football and women!!

I have been an Everton fan for the last 15+ years and now that I am 26 have decided to make the trek to Goodison Park in September!!
I plan on going to the game against Newcastle on September 15th. But I need to know a few things and was wondering if you folks could be awesome enough to help me out!!

Very very keen on a stadium tour. Do we need to pre-book them or can you just rock up and get them?

Anything else exciting to see in the city/outskirts that I can access by public transport??

I love to drink beer and talk crap so looking for the best place to meet similar people before the game at the pubs and the best place to be during the game. I am a member of the active support in Australia for my club and love to give the opposite team and fans as much stick as humanly possible! (and if it cant be against the red ****e it may as well be against the bloody geordies!!).

Can I get tickets easily considering I am in Australia and where should I buy my seat for??

I am also looking for somewhere to set up camp for the night so looking at suggestions for hotels/hostels that arent going to break my bank!!!

I have plenty of Everton gear but every where I travel to I always take a Sydney FC scarf and swap it for a scarf of the club I am watching (finally it gets to be Everton!!!) with a local fan. Do you reckon somebody would be up for that? Im sure I could accompany it with a pint or 2.

Looking forward to getting out and getting into the football!! YEEHARR BABY!!!

I think with a stadium tour you just turn up on the day, I think they do them most days but best to ring ahead just to check or go on the website. I know you can't pre book them though.

The lads from the city will help you with hotels/ drinking places etc but there's a couple of decent places around the ground where everyone drinks before hand especially the one down the road from the park end slightly away from the ground. I can't remember the name of it but it's got red on the outside of it.

Tickets no problem, I turned up on the day for the home derby last season and got a ticket. Wouldnt advise it coz it was a sell out in the end, I showed up about 3 hours before, but for the Newcastle game you won't have a prob getting a tik and you can book it online and pick it up at the Bullens Road ticket office.

Best places to sit imo is Lower Gwladys- you might have a bit of difficulty getting a decent seat in the middle here but there's usually plenty of single's around the side.

Avoid Lower Bullens like the plague. If you get a seat right near the back the roof comes down over your view so if the ball goes a few meters in the air you won't see it.

We don't do fancy stadiums at Everton ;)

If I'm up for the match I'll give you a shout on here, sure plenty of others will too! Enjoy yourself mate!

As for the scarf thing I'm sure someone will swap it with you!

The pubs called the abbey

What NIK said.

Most of the good stuff in liverpool is central so get yourself a decent hotel in the middle of the city centre and go from there.

If you book well in advance you can get travelodge and premier Inn's for less than a match ticket.

You might need someone to get your ticket for you as the club can be a bit daft about that as you haven't bought one before. If you need help let me know closer to the time and I'll get one for you on the day.

They don't do stadium tours of a match day.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to PM me if you want to ask anything.

Welcome to Goodison.

I bought tickets last year from Australia. Just gotta register on the website, obviously, then you can claim them from the ticket office on the day of the game. It isn't much trouble at all, really.

Ill be going to the Newcastle game, i have a pink hat n scarf ill glady give u for nothin.

Best place for a good chat about football on a non match day is "The Lisbon" lovely nosh in there as well.

Cheers for the replies everyone!
Im getting more and more on edge and cant wait to get over there and smash some pints plus watch some quality football!!

As a serious question i know the football culture over there is 10fold different to Australia and what not but is it advisable to wear jerseys/club gear to the games? Like I wont be leaving myself open to getting picked off by Geordies or R.S fans loitering around will I?? In Aus nobody gives 2hoots about what you wear or do but been to a few other places and have been specifically warned against it..!!

Im sure you'll all be open to having a pint or 6 with an Aussie, apparently we have pretty grouse accents (or so the women say). Just make sure you tell me which birds are off limits and which are on the game!!

Il be asking some more questions soon which Im sure you will all think are pretty daft but ya know being an Aussie I can tell you about the bush and outback but seven shades of shyte all about London and what to etc haha.

Gunna book my flights First thing Monday morning!!

Wear your Everton top/gear mate you will be absolutely 100% fine don't worry about it.

Hope you enjoy it!!!

Hopefully Everton put in a good performance for you that week!

Is that 100% ???????
I really hope not cause that will chuck a major spanner in the works for me. Or it could also work out a bit better, i may get to see a bit more football somewhere else.
Maybe might be able to catch a game in Manchester or even somewhere in London???
