Coleman

No debate about the RB now. The shame of it is that this development could and should have happened over a season ago. He just needed game time to get himself sorted out in this position in a blue shirt - a position that he'd always nailed down elsewhere. The reason for the delay is that it's only this season that Moyes has seriously looked at using both flanks to attack down.

It might have happened last season were it not for him getting hacked and injured in that pre-season 'friendly'.

I wasn't sure about him as a right back and still wish he could tackle like Hibbert but he was solid defensively today and looked good going forward. Well in Seamus.

On the flipside though we all wish Hibbert could attack like Coleman... can't have it all.

In the modern game I think Coleman is more of an overall asset than Hibbert. And I love Hibbo so it pains me to say that.

Wouldn't disagree with that. It'll be interesting to see if Moyes keeps playing him now that Hibbert's available. I think he may have surprised Moyes as much as some of us and he'll only play Hibbert if Coleman goes off the boil.

If you're going to be offensive in a game you have to have a two pronged attack with FBs bombing on. Baines gets caught out of position too, as do all of the best FBs in the game. It's a price worth paying though. You just have to stick with it and stand by your players. To his credit Moyes is doing that with SC atm.

Coleman seems to have improved loads since last season. He's finally learned how to cross a ball and stop losing posession constantly with those aimless runs. Fair play to him.

I just can't get over that Moyes has played him there for seven games this season, already.

When ever anyone was saying we should buy a RB, I always said that I wanted Seamus to have a proper run there first just to see if he would make it and now he's been given one and he looks good. Not a great player but handy and with room to grow.

Well in Davey, lad. If 50,000 pound Seamus Coleman turns out to be our future at RB then he's played a blinder with the lad. That's like a days wages for the likes of Toure.

If selection is based on form, then David Moyes has to keep him in the right-back position even when Tony Hibbert returns from fitness. The lad has been consistent in that position, even if their have been a few errors here and there. For the most part he's really impressed me, particularly the way he can supplement our attack on the right. Adds balance and pace.

Coleman really looked good today, I always have a dig at him but every player makes a few mistakes and I think we could have a real player if he cleans up his sloppiness and continues to create chances like today.
