Just shows that football isn't a sport anymore, it's a business. It'll be okay to null and void all the lower leagues, but heaven forbid doing that to the prem, all because there's too much money to lose. If they want to fit everything in like it's summer camp, you have to do it all the way down the football pyramid, otherwise you're saying you don't care about the lower leagues they mean nothing.

Not really mate, it all comes down to the clubs within each league. Didn’t the lower league clubs vote to end the season? Whereas majority of PL clubs want to finish it because they don’t want to lose tens of millions of pounds. I want the season to be voided as it’d be hilarious but it’s completely understandable that they want to finish it if they’re told it’s safe to do so...

Just thinking with this behind closed doors lark. Are sky really going to get there money's worth out of it with pubs not being open, who I should imagine pay most towards the overall subscriptions. I wonder if it'd be better for them financially to save some money this season and show extra games when the fans are back..

Like you just said, they don't want to lose teams of millions of pounds. Because the lower league clubs won't be losing the money, they don't care, its just a game of football at the end of the day.

For sporting reasons, only the RS and Leicester would want this season to continue, nobody else would care if it wasn't about money. That to me shows football cares more about money, like a business does, than just getting out on the pitch and playing football.

Well yeah but we can’t pretend money isn’t a huge part of the game at the top level. If there was the same level of money involved in the lower leagues they wouldn’t have been voided so quickly.

What about Sheffield United by the way? Leeds and West Brom?

Apparently we (being Everton) could lose around £50m in revenue if the season isn’t completed. That could be pretty devastating for us given the recent losses we’ve posted... who knows. But I can completely understand why they’re trying to come up with ways to finish it, as much as it’s annoying me.

I hope they can find a solution that allows them to cancel the season but not have a devastating financial impact.

I imagine this social distancing is going to be here a good while so how are players meant to tackle each other?
It won’t affect Schneiderlin like but it is a thought.....
