Club Statement: Coronavirus

This mega event idea is barmy, bananas. Having several hundred playing staff and at least the same support, catering security etc in close proximity is just daft. It will not be possible to prevent an outbreak. What happens when someone there contracts and dies?

Not mentioning the inevitable swarming of RS hordes on the site to see history etc. Still all about them.

It’s utter madness! What about all the poor staff at the hotels, probably be paid minimum wage to change Salah, Pogba, or Harry Kane’s bed sheets every day!

So the new "plan" is to put Billions worth of footballers in the Midlands and all the staff and crew to assemble a "World Cup" style tournament for a month.

Cancel the TV deal and watch Bezos, BBC, ITV come thundering in! Sky and BT can wish all they want but this TV deal is as dead as the League.

Void/Curtained the League NOW and renegotiate the TV Deal for another season while clubs take a pay cut.

Your final position in the league as of now is he European places so unlucky United.

Sorry about Relegation but thems the brakes.

Are the Championship, League 1 and League 2 going to have these camps too? As they will need to finish their seasons. If not then they will mount legal challenges.

If they are then the womens leagues and all the national leagues that have already been void will certainly challenge any decision to play top level games as they will argue that there is no difference in safety levels and that they were not allowed the extra time to see if the coronavirus passes so they could finish their seasons.

There has to be one decision which applies to every club and league

There doesn't have to be one decision that applies to every club and league - football isn't the same at all levels & different rules apply - eg: VAR isn't applied across all leagues.

None the less - there is no way these camps are going to happen

Thing is its flawed, all clubs would have to agree, cant see West Ham or Norwich going for it.

The longer this drags the funnier it's getting as the desperation grows

I might well be wrong - probably am, but I’m sure I read somewhere that PL rules require a majority of 14 out of 20 clubs to vote in favour of rule changes etc! Whether that would apply in these circumstances I’m not sure?

VAR doesnt impact clubs financially though. Some of them lower teams could have been promoted, earning extra money - exactly the same as Leeds WBA etc but on a smaller scale.

They have been denied that opportunity already so if different rules apply to other leagues they will surely have a case. If the cancellation of leagues for safety reasons is the choice then the safety reasons apply to all leagues

yep - that's a fair point; but where and when does that stop? apply that logic & because the National league is voided, you have to void everything else now?

As very very unlikely as it is, suppose UEFA; PL, Bundesliga and so on all agree that whenever even if it is that it is safe to resume even if that is 2021, all seasons the CL & Europa league are to be concluded, I cant see the FA saying we can't do that because we have voided the National league already.

There will invariably be different decisions made at different levels of the game & that could also work in reverse, if it is deemed safe to have games under a certain attendance, before you are allowed fill premier league grounds.

Why would Arsenal and Spurs be upset?

If that is their best idea then the Premier League should just give it up and start again next season.

Surely the PFA will get involved? Taking the players away from their families during a really difficult time and putting them with a bunch of other people, camera crew etc. If one gets it in a club they all will. It only takes one caterer, or one outlier case where the incubation period is a bit longer than the quoted 2 weeks. Then maybe someone playing a game shedding the virus infects the opposition too.

Unless you're testing them all daily, which is a huge waste of tests if they're as much like gold dust as they seem, then it's way way beyond acceptable risk levels.

By then a lot in the wider world will be running out of money/food - if every footballer is away from home that puts their families in danger of a different kind too.

It's an absolute joke that they're even thinking about this. Give Liverpool the title and void the rest, I don't care about that side of it but it answers the one question anyone has about it all. Then just stop this insanity and let everyone focus on the actual world.

They’ve both had turd seasons, they’d void in a heartbeat.

You would think so but the term decency and Premier League don't go well together just look at our dear dear neighbours.

YNVA - You'll Never Void Anything

Tell that to Levy because he will want his Lion's Share of anything plus Arsenal are wanting City booted out of Champions League next season so they'll want a chance to get in.
