Christian Atsu

Done well at Vitesse, granted the Dutch league is not the PL. Seems he was used on the left last year and had his best season. Played on the right for Ghana and had a mediocre campaign. Maybe his best role for now is an impact sub, coming on and playing on the left and pushing Mirallas over to the right.

Anyone think his best position could be at CAM running at defenders instead of out wide. He'd probably be gash in the centre and of course wouldn't challenge Barkley or Eto'o there but wonder if Roberto has given it a thought. Because, CLEARLY, he's not experienced enough to play out wide at this level anyway.

I see us exchanging him for Salah in January tbh, how I wish we could get Deulofeu back. Atsu will then go back out to Vitesse or some crap league and gain nothing. The kid has potential but I don't think he wants to be here and to succeed you NEED to want it badly.

I know everyone will disagree but I said the same about Besic - how have we came to the conclusion this lad 'isn't good enough'? I also said the same about Barkley & Deulofeu in the past.

Why are we so quick to judge YOUNG players on a handful of appearances. This lad has ability for all to see, I hope he gets a chance before the end of the season to have a fair crack at it. Man we don't help our players confidence wise do we? Feel for the lad being injured again too.
Agree. The first time he got the ball on Thursday he looked like he meant business but was cleaned, out injury followed straight after. If we give the lad a chance I think he will shine

Shame for the lad but I guess it wasn't meant to be and in the little we saw of him he didn't like was going to cut it anyway.

It was imperative that we go out and sign fresh faces in January anyway but now it's truly necessary if we're going to save our season.
