2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

Alcaraz is definitely not a better attacking player than Dewsbury-Hall. And it's not even close.

Alcaraz carries the ball well but his decision making and final pass are severely lacking
His decision making looks worse because he actually attempts to make decisions as opposed to KDH who plays safe all the time and as such is never making the “wrong” choice.

Moyes tactics certainly doesn't help players once he throws random lineups out, but you can naturally see what certain players offer.
Garner without Gana
O'Brien CB
KDH more central

Charly - ?
I can't see what more he offers other than around the 18yrd box, other than getting bums off the seat and an extra boost in the team.
Starting spot - he loses that burst.
More deficiency's than strengths..

Forget the 10 position

KDH Garner Armstrong
( He doesn't come close to that midfield.

Just my opinion though, just have to see how it plays out..
You dont see what Alcaraz brings???

I think its pretty obvious. He brings a fast, physical, aggressive player, who tries to make things happen and has the energy to be everywhere. He can also play across 3-4 positions, so he can fill in for any number of players. He has 3 goals and 4 assists in 1500 minutes. Just his ability to come off of the bench and go at tired legs is very valuable, as he carries the ball well and is physically ideal in the PL. If he improves his game and learns to turn the ball over less he could be a 40m player.

Think you have just said exactly my point, off the bench at tired legs..

Each game that he has started in different areas across the middle he has done nothing accept being found out and pressed into failed pass attempts, running into blind spots.
Too much time to think and his mind is gone..

All the games we jump off our feet have been off the bench..

Impact player.

I would love nothing more than to be shown i'm wrong, I really like the lad, I don't need to be 'right' like some people.
I'm just not blinded by certain aspects of his game because I love his attitude..

You mean he executes his decisions badly, yes?
No, I mean when a player doesn't take risks it can be seen as not making bad decisions because they aren't having risky moments not work. But it isn't actually, because at times the right decision is to take the risk, and whether it works out or not doesn't actually matter as far as the decision goes.

Right, so what you are saying is you're happy to have players who make decisions but can't execute them on the pitch?

Sounds like a recipe for success.

I’m happy to have attacking players try things that don’t come off yes. It’s impossible to complete an incisive pass if you don’t try it in the first place.

Maybe watch Bruno Fernandes play a little and you’ll see what I’m getting at
Alcaraz isn't anywhere near Fernandes. Thats my point. See, put me on a footie pitch and I'll see a pass and most likely arse it up.

This is Alcaraz. Its lovely he'll try to be progressive, but the execution sucks. Utterly pointless, thus an idea ball at best.

I’d rather have someone attempt to play the position correctly (Alcaraz, Iwobi) than do it wrong conceptually but be safe and functional while they do so (KDH, Cleverley, Doucoure in a way). No he’s not the best #10 in the league, but we’d have scored more goals if we played him every week than we have done.

Obviously crap.
