Championship Thread 25/26 Season

I love the Championship. Some of the most fun games I attended when I've visited England and just an overall chaotic but still very talented league overall.

You`d like lower league even more.

Blood and thunder tackles, the refs let the games flow, admittedly the ball is in the air more than the Premier League, but there`s non of this passing the ball around at the back for malarky.

I do think the lower leagues can be so much more exciting, there's a couple of teams i keep an eye on, much to the amusement of my nephews.

Oh I've been 😅

Went to England in 2021 as a solo trip and saw games in all 4 tiers of the EFL. The game I ended up enjoying the most was Leyton Orient vs Sutton United in League Two and I still casually follow Leyton thanks to that game.

Returned to England in 2024 and saw a 9th tier club called Fisher FC from London take on Faversham. The game was an absolute blast, and it even had to be paused as they had kicked too many balls out of play and had to go fetch them. The first trip I took honestly had made me so much more aware of the lower levels and it's what I love most about English football. It's the sporting equivalent of going to a DIY punk concert as opposed to going to big mainstream commercialized stadium shows.

Yep. We got Stoke at home tomorrow. The board were a bit daft employing first Ryan Mason, a coach who not been a main manager and then replacing him with basically a PE Teacher who although managed an MLS team not managed an English team especially one struggling at the bottom of the Championship
As we saw with the lad at Celtic Sue, managing in the mls may not be all it’s cracked up to be. And that guy was very highly rated for the job he did in Columbus.
