Wolves (10th)
Southampton (14th)
Bournemouth (8th)
Huddersfield (20th)
West Ham (17th)
Doesn't seem to matter if the opposition is poor or not, going by the season to date. He's distinctly underwhelming regardless of the standard of the opposition.
Tosun is the sort of player Bolton signed in the late 1990's and early 2000's, Quite the coincidence, when you consider who signed him for us.
In fairness, out of our opening games only Southampton and Huddersfield are poor teams. Wolves have had a very difficult start to the season that includes creditable draws against ourselves, City and United. Don't be misled by West Ham's lowly position either. They also have had a very difficult start to the season, but they followed up their win against us by taking the first points off Chelsea this season in a game they should have won and also could very easily have beaten Arsenal away too. I expect both of those teams, together with Bournemouth, to finish comfortably mid table or top half this season.
I'm not defending Tosun here, just saying that the start we had was not necessarily the gimme that a lot of people are making out. Tosun is clearly lacking confidence at the moment, but is still our best option when playing against teams that will park the bus. I don't believe Fulham will do that today so I expect Marco to keep him on the bench. I wouldn't be surprised if he continued with DCL up front, but I'd like to see him start with Richarlison up there to make space for Bernard on the left.
Tosun was poor against both Huddersfield and West Ham, but prior to that his overall play has been pretty good. I think not scoring is playing on him and if he get's a goal I think his confidence will return. He's not the sort of player to get us 20 goals, but I think you'll find that with him in the team there will be goals for the other forward players. He didn't do that on the two games mentioned above and that is my main concern, not the fact that he isn't scoring.
