Lacks pace which is a problem with an already slow midfield. Playing on the counter attack is pretty useless with him up upfront. So is playing through balls for him to run onto.
Having pace upfront gives you a massive advantage surely after this seasons premier league you can see that.

I disagree with nearly every aspect of this post. I’m not just having a go at you for the sake of it mate but:

1. I don’t buy this “lacks pace” argument. He’s not Theo or Salah or whomever, but he’s also not Depoitre or Crouch or some slouch.

2. To say it’s no use playing on the counter or playing through balls to him I would first point to his ruthless counter attack finish against Huddersfield and second point to his goals against Iran in his last but one international match. Clinical and smart finishes on the break.

3. Exactly what are you pointing to when you say how the last prem season proved that pace was all important? This isn’t Pro Evo. 99 pace isn’t the be all and end all. Jesus and Aguero did well for City and Salah et al did well for the RS yes in part because of their pace, but mostly because they’re world class players who can beat a man and finish clinically.

Didn't notice the cut throat gesture, poor taste considering he works in a country with bad knife crime problem

ReallY? Is this level of sanctimony actually justified? And if you’re going to go down that road, is Turkey’s knife crime really that prevalent / out of control?

Forgive me if I’m wrong and you’re Istanbul or Turkish based, and very much au fait with the level of criminal activity there, but it feels like you’re making this comment on the basis of the odd highly publicised Turkish ultra stabbing at an Istanbul derby, rather than an in depth analysis of Turkish knife crime statistics.

You seem to think he's the striker equivalent of Michael Keane. He isn't.

He works in England numbnuts.

Agree. A good example is Ruud Van Nistelrooy, he wasn't blessed with pace but it mattered little with Beckham, Giggs and Scholes feeding him.

Let’s just take the kopite approach here. Half of us just say ‘he didn’t do it, if you look at the footage closely one of the fans in the stadium is actually doing it to Cenk, and this fan is an Everton/Chelsea fan’ the other half can say ‘it’s a term of endearment in Turkey and I have a Turkish sign language expert on hand here’.
