I think Tosun is a much better player than Niasse. I think it was easier to leave Niasse out of the team but I take your point.

I mean by the way he was treated... basically banished and publicly told he wasn't good enough and that he would never play for Everton... only for koeman to call him up and him win us the Bournemouth game . I reckon koemans ego would have hated that victory

Love that pic... commitment ... effort .... that's what we ask for as a minimum and if you show it the fans will give you time and support you. Something niasse has and Naismith had it as Cahill , arteta etc did. If you show passion you will be supported here. If Morgan, Kev and ross realised this there time here would have been a lot better for them

Sadly Crooks is an absolute whopper.
Cenk Tosun: I haven't been totally convinced by Tosun's performances since he arrived at Goodison Park and I rather suspect neither has Sam Allardyce. To suddenly single Tosun out for special praise is a sure indication of the manager's relief that the striker (who wasn't cheap) is now hitting the back of the net on a more regular basis. His two goals against Stoke, in appalling conditions, smacked of a natural striker's instincts. Allardyce now suggests 40 points allows Everton the luxury of building for next season. I suggest those building blocks centre on Tosun scoring 20 goals otherwise both manager and striker could end up on Everton's cutting-room floor.”
Wtf. Score 20 or be binned? Most seasons only 3 players hit 20 league goals. Crooks really does steal a living.

He ONLY needs 16 in 7. Not too much to ask, is it?

:hayee:

today was the day every besiktas fan regrets that we sell him. 21m pounds for tr league title for us. team couldn’t finish without him.
altought it seemed expensive for everton fans at first, he got sold because of the pressure of the record transfer offer in tr history, and the moment the offer came nothing can focus cenk to tr league again after the dreams on EPL.
from now on he must become worldclass in everton and turn into a semi-legend just to satisfy my soul. lol

Also its very cool to support a team in epl with purpose and watch games with bond without gambling on it. cenk gives us that. if you emphaty on that the weirdness of turkish fans can seem normal at some point.

Obviously there will be humor on both sides, but the vast majority of Everton fans are thrilled to have the Turks here. And yes, you all are nuts.

I am a bit surprised Negredo isn't a decent replacement for Tosun. I have serious questions about Kyle Larin, btw. Big, strong, fast, still young, but think he needs to work on quite a few things before he's going to banging them in for Besiktas. I certainly find it amazing that you couldn't get more than 2 shots on target out of 16 against a man down Istanbul team. This is the problem with Europe, though. Ozyakup sat for the first 60 minutes and then, did they even bring on a second striker even though they were up a man? Odd.

I recall posts on this site putting Jelavic over Suarez in a 'best 11' ahead of the derby a few years ago.

Will reserve judgment for a bit...

Suppose a difference is that this lad has been doing well in the CL games for two seasons as well mate, so more 'pedigree' of doing it against decent teams than Jela had.

Jelavic was a weird one, seemed to be a few players who did similar for a half season netting for fun around that time who then fell off a cliff in the following years, Spanish lad at swansea was it, Cisse at Newcastle and a good few others.

My own take on Tosun, seems to have a good brain on him, good movement even though not the fastest and is a hard worker, throw in the ability to naturally finish chances and bodes well he will not be a flash in the pan.

Especially so when you consider right now we are as dysfunctional a team as i can remember seeing us be.

Well mate, for me it's a combination of two things. First he's a decent character, hard worker and talented striker, so in my book he deserves a decent career in UK. Also getting to know this place and people in it I had a strong bound with you Everton fans, therefore his success works both ways. I simply enjoy writing on this forum, not only football forums, mind, off topic threads are just as enjoyable. At times depression thread gives me hope and positivity when I need, interesting threads on Ale house as well. It is not mere ''Cenk is one of us, makes me proud'' in my case. I studied abroad many years, Italy and Netherlands, so I consider myself world citizen most of the time anyway.

So yeah, overall it's cool interacting Scousers here ;)

Good post mate.

To be honest you could snap the referee and six players in half then start throwing bricks into the stands but as long as you score you’d make his team of the week. Not that Tosun doesn’t deserve it though like
