John Cusack directs the normally very, watchable Samuel L. Jackson plus himself in this dreadful "Zombpocalypse" effort based upon the scratching of formulaic horror writer Stephen King.

Thanks to my current bout of insomnia, I painfully endured the 100 entirely predictable minutes of utter shyte.
Then.
The finale.

Seriously, it made it ALL worthwhile.
The truth, finally depicted on the silver screen.

Bit early for drinking mate?

It's honestly not "copy & paste", Ash.

But, my point really is to point fellow Blues in the direction of a priceless depiction which only serves to underline how the world is.
Haha can tell you haven't been here long mate. Least it proves you ain't a multi of someone ;)

It's the pun game, nothing personal

You're very wrong about Stephen King being formuliac mate :

The Shining.
Carrie.
Misery.
The Stand.
The Fog.
Salems Lot.
IT.

Amongst many others, these are superb books. The problem with the films is that most of them have been done as either mini series or on the cheap, with a B list cast, The ones that haven't - The Shining, Carrie, Misery etc are standout films.

I read once the shining had the charlie and the chocolate factory treatment. In regards to King didn't actually like that version of it and didn't think it was true to the book ala Dahl and his book/film.

There is a second movie of the shining where king was involved in, perhaps not the most well known version but it is out there.

Having read the book many times Ash, I'd say that the film is an almost verbatim reproduction, give or take a few ad libs from Nicholson.

The book is hot, and the movie is cold; the book ends in fire, and the movie in ice. In the book, there's an actual arc where you see this guy, Jack Torrance, trying to be good, and little by little he moves over to this place where he's crazy. And as far as I was concerned, when I saw the movie, Jack was crazy from the first scene. I had to keep my mouth shut at the time. It was a screening, and Nicholson was there. But I'm thinking to myself the minute he's on the screen, 'Oh, I know this guy. I've seen him in five motorcycle movies, where Jack Nicholson played the same part.' And it's so misogynistic. I mean, Wendy Torrance is just presented as this sort of screaming dishrag. But that's just me, that's the way I am."

He also reckons the best film adaptation was Stand by me, which is understandable i guess.

Did

Didn't take it personally Ash, so np.
When you finally get to see the finale of aforesaid movie.....
I may give it a go. I like films with good ideas behind them. not a movie critic so i enjoy most films, has to be terrible ala eat pray love standards for me not to enjoy a movie, and seen enough sandler films to learn that!

It is like that film, the happening? The shamalan one with mark wahlberg, probably panned movie but i enjoyed the idea behind it, same as in time with justin timberlake. not the best movie but a good idea to build a movie around.
